Hawaii State Senator Rick Reed and his wife Jenn Reed present an hour-long documentary showcasing the beauty of the Filipino culture and how Filipinos celebrate Christmas.
Wow!!! Mr. Reed said about everything I have said regarding the Philippines. I am an American that started traveling to the Philippines in January of 2008. I had no idea I was going to love the people and the country so much. My heart aches when I am not in the Philippines. I truly truly love the people and the country. Filipinos are the most warm, generous, loving, giving, and decent people I have ever met. Christmas in the Philippines is special. I wish everyone could experience it.
So many things have changed around the Cities and it's Provinces..Modern Buildings and Infrastructures are everywhere..But the Heart, The Traditions. Good Values and Positve Attitude of Filipinos are always felt and experience each time you meet one of them wherever they are around the World..I consider this Beautiful documentary as one of the Treasures of the Philippines! To Senator Rick Reed and Wife Jennifer Reed along with your Family we Thank You from the bottom of every Filipino's Heart..
Thanks!Mr.Reed for this documentary. Thanks sir, for appreciating the Philippines and loving the culture.Hoping u comeback!God blessed and Long live!!!!!!!!

From beginning to end of your video Sen. Reed I'm teary eyed. I miss my hometown and family. My parents are both teachers and I was helping them in school before they sent for a greener pasture in the U.S. Looking at the activities in school..I miss them so much. I was gone for almost 30years serving the American people and not my own elderly parents is a big thorn in my heart that I will carry for the rest of my life. Thank you for appreciating our culture..the music really made the picture more appealing to the viewers. More power to you Sen. Reed and God Bless Always.
"Every time you visit someone, it's always a merienda time." Hahaha, Pinoy customs and traditions. I really miss my country especially during Holiday seasons. So sad

I missed Christmas in the Philippines esp.in my younger days although we haven't got much those days but were very happy.I left Philippines in 1981 and been living in UK and have my own family wl my English husband.I have been home but not Christmas.Thank you Sen.Rick Reed for loving our people and our country.
My wife's mother is from here. I often wish my wife would have been able to experience her mother's home. I feel like something's missing because we don't have the ability to go to the Philippines where so many of her family are. But I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Those songs were representations of how simply beautiful the Philippines then. Now you hardly hear them being played. Very pleasing to the ears lolos and lolas would be delighted much to reminisce these songs.
My hair standing, and tears in my eyes..im a poor filipino but thank you God for pure and endless love.mr. reed i feel your clean heart and love to filipino.Godbless us....

Hi im watching your beautiful video that remind us of our Filipino tradition during Christmas in the Philippines Here i give my big thumbs up and give you my yes to your channel Stay connected kabayan
We are not Pilipinos... Spanish Kings they knew us as Ofir (Ophir), the Land of Resources as King Solomon source of gold in building his temple, known as Havilah by Adam and the Garden of Eden by the Creator Himself, ABBA YAHAWAH!!! YADAH ABBA YAHAWAH!!!
I loved it when he says: Everytime he visits Phil. he gained weight because its always merienda time..... That is how Filipinos welcomes and accommodate their friends and visitors. Filipinos had the warmest embrace and smiles for their guests and visitors as always, even the children will give you that warm smiles and welcoming.
People in the Philippines are more modern and techie than most people stateside. maybe he was saying those people from poor urban or some remote provinces and rural areas where people are generally poor. Mostly Filipinos are good natured people
I love those kids carolling during Christmas. When i went home last 2008, i drove around just to find those kids carolling & i volunteered to give them $20 for their Christmas carols. They loved me although they cannot follow me & carol me all night coz i live far away from that area we were driving. But i couldn’t stop listening to the kids carolling. Coz i temember when i was a kid, i used to carol with my friends & we split all the money we made those years. Do we know the correct wordings of those Christmas songs? No we don’t but it was so nice to do it at young age.
Dear Ms. Jennifer Reed, my sincerest thanks for sharing this video to us and making Us feel home, making Us want to come home, I'm based in Canada as my 2nd home but there is no place like Home as our Country the Philippines, still it's my HOME SWEET HOME. God Bless and thanks to Sen Reed.
watching this now, sep 1, 2020..the beginning of “ber” months in the philippines.. day1 of a 4-month Christmas Holiday celebration. unfortunately, it is still covid-19 pandemic lockdown.. hoping that Christmas 2020 will be celebrated covid-free 😔 all over the world.. this is a very heartwarming nostalgic video.. Thank you for you & your family’s love of the Phils & the Filipino people..happy friendly resilient!
Oh my God i love this classic video im crying non stop thanks so much Sen Reed for posting this video im abroad an im going home next year im feeling very homesick now may God Bless your family too.
Nuong bata ako lagi ako exited tuwing magpapasko kahit na madalas wala kami handa at pagdating ng bagong taon ang saya nang pagsalubong ng mga tao sa bagong taon angdaming paputok pabongahan ng mga paputok😅
Filipinos valued, care and love their parents and even their grand parents & keep it with them even if they got married for it is the way filipinos love their parents, which Americans & European family don't do.
It is people like Sen R. Reed that makes me appreciate my country more and proud to be Filipino and so I don't regret not moving to USA (where half of my siblings opted to be migrants there). I married my American husband because he wanted to live in the Philippines. Thank you Mr. Reed for this documentary/travelogue. We love you for loving and appreciating the good in the Philippines.
