Really needed to hear that ending, the post from Grandpa specifically. I have no family. I have a 10 month old son who is my only family which is more than enough for me. I didn't have any money to get him anything but I was lucky enough to spend the whole day with him with nothing but love. You guys genuinely get me through my lonely days. You guys show me what unconditional love is. I've never known what it's like to be a part of a family but you truly make me feel like I am loved and more importantly, not alone. I love you all so so much and I hope you know what you mean to those ones especially who struggle. I wish you all the most blessed new year and thank you for getting me through this passed one.
Happy Christmas. I have just spent the past four days alone. Thank you for what you said which helped me. I can’t go into what’s happening, but I’m now 64 and alone. The four days was so hard, I felt unloved and unwanted. On Christmas Day I got up early and made a lovely Christmas dinner and pudding for my neighbour who is 101 years old. It made her day as she was alone too. It’s just the little things that matter. Family is everything. God bless Aaron on the passing of his mother. I wish every son loved their mum like you do. Unfortunately my three sons don’t. Take care of each other Families are forever!!!

You can still do the fabric for all the kids even the ones that have moved out. Then in 10 years take their individual fabric and make the quilt. Imagine them at your age them still having that quilt. Even years later when you are gone, they can wrap themselves up in it and it will be like your still giving them a hug.
That “I love you” at the end actually made me teary. The holidays are rough for me each year. I am so envious yet love seeing your large, affluent, LOVING close family. I actually wrote a poem on this many months ago- similar to john’s post.

One year, we found large felt sacks made of Christmas decorations. We bought one for each kid. We use Santa sacks for our big family. We do not wrap each present anymore. Saves money and time. Love your idea of wrapping paper to match their personality.

My mom went to university out of state when she was younger so for the holidays she didn't have any family near her so she started inviting anyone like her to celebrate with her, and that tradition has continued on with us as kids and now adults where if we have a friend we know would be alone on Christmas or a co-worker, we invite them to our family celebration because it can be so incredibly hard to be alone when everyone else seems like they are so happy and having a good time and eating all the good food on Christmas. Thank you for the message he posted especially as he and Aaron and the family are grieving. Make sure during this season, you check on people and ask them how they are really doing and try to spend time with the ones you know are going through tough times. It can make all the difference.

Watching with my 12 year old son this morning here in Australia he was so excited for Logan’s gifts. They are all something he knows a lot about as he would love them himself. Merry Christmas to the entire family. My favorite thing about Christmas is being able to see my family and the joy on their faces when they open their gifts. When I am able to see that sparkle in their eyes, and the smile on their faces mean more to me than anything I receive. Don't get me wrong, I do love receiving gifts, but my favorite gifts are the smiles on other people's faces.

It’s hard not having a typical life so I make sure to appreciate all the simple blessings I do have like watching your videos. Your videos help me get through the days and I can’t be more thankful to you all for that.
About the wrapping paper, since you wouldn’t be able to do the big quilt for each kid by their 18th birthday.. you could always use all the fabric from that Christmas (from everyone) and make one big quilt to have at the house as a spare blanket and one one square of each different pattern could be the name of the children embroidered into which one they had.

I really enjoyed the extra long vlog. I was alone for Christmas as I always spent it with my sister who passed away. I missed her so much this year. It was good seeing everyone enjoy the day. Aurora's excitement was off the chain.😅 When she hugged Katie goodbye, it was so sweet. 😊The fabric is a great idea but I would take a piece of this year's wrapping paper and place it in a memory book along with the year and why you choose it. It would be great to look back on each year that way. Thank you so much for helping me get through this holiday season. Even though I cried through the vlog with grandpa, it was a cleansing cry 😢. I was feeling a little low, when my other sister gifted me with premier tickets to The Color Purple. I got to dress up and walk a red carpet. It was an early birthday present, which is this Saturday. watching this brought tears as i seen Aaron trying to be happy & enjoy the hoildays after the passing of his mom iknow what hes going threw as i am going threw it my self i lost my son in Oct 25th,2023 he was 33 yrs old he passed 2 weeks before his 34th birthday & i am raising his 10yr old son & his 16 yr old nephew & 12 yr old niece so trying to keep upwith the spirit of Christmas was very draining hope with Gods strength he will know hes not alone there is so many ppl out there going threw something i can watch ure videos all day long & to just hear Aurora talking she came a long way lots love from Newfoundland Canada

Watching this video means a lot to me we lost my grandpa in September and this was our first Christmas without him. On Christmas I woke up and had dream about my grandpa and he said merry Christmas to me and that he appreciated me to spend Christmas Eve with my grandmother. I use to really dislike the blurred faces, or covered faces.. but now I think I love it. We get to learn these kiddos well before we see their faces.. which means much more than looks.
@@julieroode3731 Arwen is blurred because she isn't adopted yet, she will be around March. So they have to blur out her face (or sometimes she wears large sunglasses) to keep her identity private until she is legally adopted. The other kids are their bio kids or have already been adopted.
We do experiences instead of gifts!! So they remember those better!!!! Hope u all had a very merry Christmas!! The fabric wrapping and quilt idea is amazing. I wish I had thought of something like that for my kids and grandkids. As an alternative to the fabric and quilt, perhaps you can make a framed collage with the wrapping paper that they can hang as artwork. Just a thought. You have the sweetest family and are as much a gift to those kids as they are to you. it's wonderful to see and very inspiring.

Merry Christmas! The way that we handle Christmas morning with early risers is that Santa leaves the kids’ stockings in their rooms and they can open them whenever they want. We tell them on Christmas Eve what time we will open presents the next morning. We told everyone 9am and none of the kids bothered any adults about presents until 9. It was wonderful!
