Just a note: The Vessel Impacta screwdrivers do actually have an internal mechanism which twists counterclockwise 12 degrees each time you strike the back of the handle, provided you hit hard enough and the fastener can turn. I was slightly confused on if this was the case when I filmed. You can see a little twisting action towards the end of my demo. Thanks!

Sorry this video is coming out so late! Had major itis after eating so took some time to recover, ran into an issue while filming, my editor crashed when I first started editing, and then I took some extra time to learn the fancy magic trick in this video! Let me know if you saw the trick both times. ;)

Hahaha! I have bought some cheap easy outs. I have not gotten the kind that comes with drill bits, but I have heard the horror stories, and oh boy have I used my share of cheap drill bits! PTSD. :P

Oo another good rant video with loads of good info on some cheap but useful tools and your right on the money with cheap/reliable bit it's all about finding the best bang for your buck and things that work matter a lot more than saving a buck.

Hahaha I'm happy you like the rants! I'm all about saving a buck, but when you save a buck just to spend more later, well, you didn't save anything. Plus you added time and frustration, both of which are worth money to save!

Great budgeting technique! It's probably why you buy more tools than me! I always like to buy overkill tools (still not the most expensive) because I assume I don't know how difficult a task awaits me in the future. Great magic edits! Save that sound effect for future magic!

I get hella deals on tools I won't lie. That said I def spend more than I should at time. I buy overkill tools when I have seen them in action and been truly impressed or I know I need an upgrade from experience. It pays to have the right tool ahead of time though. Like you said! I found that sound effect when looking for a good smoke bomb sound and I just kinda died so I had to use it.

I'm pretty excited about them. I don't use screwdrivers super often, but when I do, boy is it nice to have one that doesn't suck! :D The way I could leave it in the head during the demo is just excellent.

Oh no, definitely not, hahaha. That was like the rear subframe on the 2.5RS. I had already gotten the last two subframe bolts free and then the captive nut decided to snap off anyways. Like what the heck? I have learned to not get angry so much as just immediately plan the next steps, but it takes practice, hah.

802 Garage, I have to step away from it and go have a cup of coffee and do a lot of thinking, so as not to make things worse. I have used my hand held grinder many times to get out of messes.

The Vessels are nice but when it comes to seized screws I prefer the Tekton manual impact. For some reason the "poof" edit really got me. Good to see you had a great Christmas.

Yeah those true impact drive screwdrivers are awesome. I still want to add one of those as well. Glad you liked the poof. Found the sound when looking for a smoke bomb sound and it killed me. Thanks a lot hope yours was great too!

Cool video. I haven't heard anyone address the difference between JIS and Phillips head screws since I read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" (should be required reading for every gearhead). Also appreciated your shout out to AvE's channel. I like how you, AvE, and Robert Pirsig address the philosophy of how people interact with machines. Finally, didn't know reverse drill bits existed. They must come in handy when dealing with rusty junk.

I always hear that's an amazing book! That and there is one called... Carroll Smith's Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook. Still need to get a copy myself. I don't remember when I first learned about JIS vs Phillips, but suddenly it made sense to me why the crappy screwdriver that comes in the Subaru tool kit seemed so much better than any fancy screwdriver I tried, hah. Not like AvE needs my shout out, but he is definitely worth watching! This Old Tony is also great, of course. And yep, left hand bits can be huge time savers. As long as they aren't cheap crap. ;) Thanks a ton for the comment!!!

Yeah looking at reviews it seems it handles it just fine. Seems it will work phenom for the NiCu lines though! The screwdrivers seem great. Did you see how it stayed in the bolt head by itself towards the end? So sick.

I have a really nice set of JIS screw drivers that I got from my grandfather when he passed away in 2005. They are from the WWII era and I also got a pair of 115 year old plyers that look and act pratically brand new. It's crazy how much the quality has degraded on low cost tools over the years.

Agreed, I hate lo quality tools, some of the stuff from harbor freight is a solid pass. but they have a Pitsburg steel low profile jack with a spreader. That is crazy expensive if it is snap-on or mac. But their's is fantastic at 1/4 the cost.

Yeah the biggest avoid at all costs because it will just piss you off is cheap locking pliers. Pittsburgh wannabe vice grips are worthless! I have lots of stuff from them that is great though. Hard to screw up a breaker bar for example. Their jacks have treated me very well too!
