The Christmas trees are going up and I have a very extra idea for what I want to do next. I'm also including a transfer update that has been stressful and weighing heavy on us this week.

You are soooo welcome to come and decorate my house. I've been in a deep depression the last few years and couldn't even tell you what we did. Bless my husband for taking over and still making it special for our son. This year thankfully I'm slowly getting into the idea of decorating. I totally want my pencil tree up to see cozy lights at night. And I want all our homemade ornaments up, with lights and wreaths outside. My neighbors would think someone new moved in, it's been so long! My only trouble is I do not have the energy or physical ability to do any of it and my husband, like Grant, already has so much on his plate. So what I'm saying is...I'll have cocoa and candy canes waiting for you. 🎄😁💕

My husband would NOT have said that. lol (He is the actual Grinch as regards decorations. His only furniture for six months of his bachelorhood was a bed and a five gallon bucket to sit on...he's kind of a minimalist.)

When we were deep in our journey to become parents ... I was waiting for my cycle to start for a test I think but it meant a another month etc. I had a co worker ask what was wrong, I ended up telling her everything. She full on prayed out loud right there in the hall that my period would come ... I was mortified. But the next day my cycle started and the next cycle was the one I became pregnant. Sending cycle wishes your way.

You need more trees, leighann. There's no way around it. That spot by the stairs NEEDS the big tree. But you're absolutely correct that seeing a glimpse of a tree from the outside is magical. Also, I started putting up Christmas decor this week, too.

Leighann, I can’t go into all the details of what your journey with IVF is doing to me. But I can sum it up with this.....You, Grant, and ALL of you that have gone or are going through this treatment, I am in awe of you. I don’t mind when people wanna decorate for the holidays. It’s a personal choice. If it makes you happy go for it. I wait till after thanksgiving but that’s just me. I want to enjoy my fall decorations during fall. I’m big into Halloween so those decorations get one full month too lol. Oct is Halloween, nov is fall and dec is Christmas fun. Just remember it’s your home and make it happy. ❤️

Yes! I fully support people who want to decorate for Christmas early. However, I like to enjoy Fall after Halloween for a little bit. Thanksgiving week is when I switch to Christmas. I just love fall too much to let it fall by the wayside 😂

One thing i love when i drive around and see houses set up outside for Christmas is the tree. Seeing a Christmas tree lit up by the window just warms my heart. That is the best part when i see houses set up🥰

Growing up, my family always had three trees. One my mom kept up all year and decorated for each holiday/season. We live in Ohio and my dad is a big buckeye fan so we have an “Ohio tree” decorated in scarlet and gray with cardinals that sits in the front picture window that can be seen from outside, plus our main Christmas tree. In recent years we’ve only had two, Ohio tree and main tree, now that my brother and I are adults. Go all out on Christmas while you can. Especially when you have little ones running around 🥰 my dad can no longer get on the roof to hang ice sickle lights outside but that was one of my most favorite things about Christmas during my childhood. Coming home from Christmas concerts at school and other Christmas events to a beautifully decorated house was always magical and made the season so special and bright.

Love watching your updates and supporting your journey!! I’ve never been through what you’re going through and I’m not a doctor... but I have had irregular periods my entire life and there’s a couple of things I’ve noticed regarding that. The more stressed out and tense I am - the longer it takes to arrive. Which makes sense. So I’ve tried multiple things that have helped like guided meditation online, working out, watching favorite movies and snacking by myself - anything that causes an emotional reaction of any sort and also other things like being intimate, massages, baths, self care and just basically anything that gives me some deep relaxation!! Mine usually comes when I’m able to get myself to fully relax and just kind of let go of stress. Easier said than done, but I hope this helps!!! And if nothing else... you at least deserve that!! It’s been a rough year for everyone. So enjoy! Also, the three Christmas tree idea makes perfect sense to me!!! Can’t wait to see how you decorate this year! Ready for some holiday cheer 🎄😍🎉

A Christmas tradition my bff’s family started with their kids was they bought a hallmark ornament for each kid every year that somehow pertained to something in the year. So for instance the year her brother bought his first truck they got him an old truck hallmark ornament. The plan was that when they grew up and moved away they were supposed to take those ornaments with them to start their own trees. Their mom ended up wanting to keep them all lol but I ive always thought it was such a cute idea. I thought it might be cute for you guys to start WHEN you have that sweet little baby. You may more enjoy having a theme for a tree which is totally understandable but for some reason I was compelled to share this story/idea with you ❤️

And yes to the two pencil trees for the corners. I like my tree being in the window area if possible too but living in tiny apartments for many years, I usually just have to put it wherever it fits.

Balsam Hill disaster: I convinced my husband that our tree needed to be from Balsam Hill "itll last us FOREVER" well, our tree arrived and the lights didnt work, they put me through the ringer to fix it over the phone, they had to send out a whole new section to us. The following year it didnt work AGAIN and couldnt be fixed. In order to replace it they wanted me to ship it back, I lived on a 3rd floor apartment, I wasnt getting that tree down the stairs 😂 So they sent an entirely new tree and it DIDNT work. It took me 3 seasons to tediously remove the pre lit lights from the tree, after paying $650 for a tree we were not just tossing it. Its a gorgeous tree but Im done with pre lit

Grant being a boy they don't get the happiness it makes us girl feel decorating and making the home cheerful. My husband doesn't get it but he lets me be crazy and craft my face off and decorate for every holiday. That is love.

I did find myself sitting in my family room and wishing the tree was up and lit, as I was looking at my autumn leaf garland and glitter pumpkins. Sending you good vibes! Christmas 2019 pushed my first ivf cycle back a month... then the first ivf cycle was a fail then I finally had a successful cycle in Feb 2020 but needed a month off to recover and then COVID lockdown hit!!! Finally had my transfer in June 2020 and I’m almost 25 weeks pregnant.... keep going, you’ll get there 💜
