Christmas Village Styrofoam Pillars Tutorial 

Hi Miriam 👋. What a great demonstration. I actually like the wider brick lines better. To me it looks more natural and realistic as well as adds a bit of aging to the bricks. Other than that sis, I just wanted to tell you that I actually dropped my phone while watching the beginning of this video. You and that hot knife are gonna land me in therapy. OMG! You are killing me sis🤦‍♀️! The way your fingers, hands, and wrists were dancing around that hot knife had me on edge 😳. I was actually saying out loud, "Miriam nooooo!" You be careful and safe and keep a First Aid Kit in the room and all that good stuff. Awwww! Stay blessed 😘👍💕💕

Hi Miriam, Another fun tutorial. All these little added items really help to give our villages a more personal feel to them. Love it. Now just make sure you're giving yourself enough time to get last year's village all down and put away. July is 2/3rds of the way gone with only a week and a half left. Don't get yourself overwhelmed. I only say this because I care. All the best to you and yours.

Very nice DIY tutorial, Miriam. I did one little addition to my pillars for my 2021 village. I made a small ball of aluminum foil and slightly pressure rolled over my brick pillars on the expanded Styrofoam to add a texture to the from of the bricks. Then did the carving. Very cute final scene...where did you get that bell? That's what I need for my 2022 village. Very well explained accessory build.

Hi Miriam, I love the pillars and the idea of a brick retaining wall. My Christmas village houses are more on an HO scale, I painted them all years ago, so I think the retaining wall will be perfect for what I have in mind for this year. I am going to combine my "regular" village with my Santa village and I think the retaining wall will add to the village while the Santa section will be more mountainous. Thank you for the great idea. As always, your work is beautiful and you are so talented. I may even add a retaining wall to a section of our HO scale train layout. I think I know just the spot for it.

Great tutorial Miriam. I'm adding a zoo this year. Yours last year inspired me and can hardly wait to get started. I found a bag of all the perfect size zoo animals at my local thrift store. Every animal that would come to mind. I'm most anxious for the penguin enclosure. Just hope it turns out. You are always so inspiring and I love,love,love your channel.

Hi Miriam, I made my small walls, pillars and bows out of white foam and used the carving tool from HWFF. A negative thing about that is they break easier when you give too much pressier, but I can't get my hand on pink foam (yet). The pink looks much sturdier. p.s. I have to look for that cabinet with drawers to store my loose figurines much easier. Have a blessed 11 days of Christmas in July. Can't wait to see what the others have done. Greetings Judith

Oh how I wish I had seen this before I made my free standing cobblestone signs! I used white styrofoam with an etching tool from HWFF. Yours looks SO much better. I think I am off to Lowe's to get a piece of pink foam to remake the signs. Will the etching tool work on pink foam? BTW I had a wonderful chat with Pat and John about Foam Coat. I think I (we) decided that for my purposes Foam Coat isn't the best option. Thanks for this tutorial - you are a wealth of information!!
