In this video you can enjoy a walk through Vigo during Christmas 2023.
The slogan that can be seen throughout the city is really accurate: Vigo, the city where Christmas lives. Vigo is filled with light throughout the festive period and manages to dazzle. In fact, until I experienced it myself (because as the Vigo tourism website says, Christmas is not told, it is lived) I had my doubts about whether I would like it that much. It far exceeds my expectations.
Among many activities, you can enjoy a 44-meter-high tree and a Venetian carousel (price €3) in Puerta del Sol, a castle on Policarpo Sanz street, a 10-meter-high snowman in García Barbón, a 60 meter high Ferris wheel (price €5), the Christmas train (€5 adults and €3 children) and even a boat to see the lights from the estuary (departs at 8 p.m. and lasts 1 hour and a half - prices : over 12 years old, €18; 3-12 years old, €9; and under 3 years old, free).
I advise coming to Vigo by public transport, as the traffic jams can be enormous, since several streets in the center are cut off. I recommend using the bus or the train, because the intermodal station is right in the center. Another option is to leave the car in the towns on the right bank of the estuary, Moaña or Cangas, and cross to Vigo by boat, thus adding another unforgettable experience to your visit, as it is one of the most beautiful estuaries in Galicia.
