Agreed! My cat Maddie passed in September and we rescued a new kitten in November. The kitten looks like Maddie's sister that also passed years ago so we like to think she sent the kitten our way. 🐾

I totally get the Post holiday blues! Even though it's still decorated in my house through January, the blues hit December 26. Even as a full grown adult, there's just something so magical about Christmas time.

Absolutely adopt a rescue dog! There are so many in need of a loving home. We have only ever adopted, and it is the most rewarding experience. Merry Christmas!

I get sad, too, Crystal. I feel like all we have to look forward to is a long, cold, dreary Winter. Christmas is so much fun and most people are so jovial and happy. Then, when Christmas is over, things go back to the same old same old. It's nice to know that other people feel with way as well. I enjoyed watching you wrap your gifts. Thanks for a fun video.

Rescues are the best! Each dog that we have had over the years has been a rescue. I had the same “feeling” about our current rescue and she is wonderful. It was definitely a great decision for us after losing our 15yo rescued Beagle.

I have to share the story of my dog Kirby. It's one of those meant to be stories. My previous dog died around Christmas and I was so sad. A few months later I opened my Facebook page and his face popped up as free. A little black and white shih tzu 10 years old. It was 6 in the morning and I had to stop myself from calling until a better time. Well long story short, they brought him to me. He is everything to me five years later. 💓

I enjoy watching you because you make us feel like friends. Talking to us as you do is so nice, especially for people like me who live alone and retired. Your parents must be so proud of you. Had fun watching your boys today too. First shoveling and then with the gifts. I'm glad you are looking at rescues and shelter for your next dog. They need good homes like yours.

The chat was nice…I felt like I was sitting in the room with you and sipping hot chocolate out of MY Mrs. Santa mug while you wrapped gifts! 😂🤣😂. Our dog died in 2008, and my husband is just now considering getting another. He really took her death so hard. We all did. Prayers for that wonderful dog. God’s timing is always perfect.🙏🏾 I get the holiday blues too Crystal, and it’s not just after Christmas. It’s after any special event , like birthdays, anniversaries…ect. I’m looking forward to January because we’re getting all new hardwood or laminate flooring in our home. I guess I just enjoy having something to look forward too. Merry Christmas! Happy holidays crystal and your family. Just about all of my dogs are shelter dogs. They're so loyal, you have such a loving heart the dog will definitely will be loved. Enjoy the wrapping chat. What a difference with the snow! Just beautiful. I miss living in Toronto and the snow...well, a little bit. I didn't like the driving in it. I loved sitting with you while wrapping gifts. The depressive feeling in winter is called S.A.D. (seasonal deficit disorder). You are way too cute and fun to not start planning your Spring & Summer. I really enjoy the music you choose.

We had 2 labs, they were 14 &15 when we lost them just a few months apart. We had spent so long in the geriatric dog stage it was so strange to be so free to do what we wanted. It took us 2 years to be ready for another dog. I think everyone is ready in their own time. I’m excited to see your new family member!

It is so hard to move on. You will never replace Bailey, but you'll find all kinds of room in your heart for a new doggo! When it's right, it will happen. My story of how I found my Piper about four months after I lost my Colby was just a ton of circumstances lining up just right, and she us just perfect for me ❤❤

Hi Crystal! I see you will probably be having a White Christmas since you have snow! Enjoyed watching you and the twins wrapping presents And wish you a Vet Merry Christmas as your celebration begins this weekend with your Dad😊 The kiddies seem so wound up excited for Christmas and they ate so cute. Want to mention I am a Doxie Mom to 2 12 year rescue dachshunds. I had lost my previous Dachshunds to old age and health after 16 years and I wad heart broken and then I found about the dachshund rescue and got myself 2 of them who were abandoned and came from not so good homes and they ended up being a gift to me filling a huge void in my life and I was able to give them a loving home and and spoiling them for which they deserved and needed. You will be blessed many times over with a rescue dog who needs you ad much as you need them. Many blessings to all of you! Look forward to spending 2022 with you 😊

Oh my goodness, thank you, I sat down and wrapped up gifts for my niece and nephews. That's off my list.✅👍 We're pretty much done with shopping. We have just one or two and that'll do it. The sense of relief is no joke.😊 Wishing you lots of good thoughts and luck with the doggie you applied for. We've also looked into and submitted an application for a doggie as well. Really enjoyed the video! I sat down and wrapped with you. Almost done and it does feel good. I am with a rescue where I live and we do background checks with your vet and references Don’t be nervous! We try to match the right dog with the right family so that the dog gets its forever home. I am glad you are opening your heart to to another dog who needs a home. We do foster to adopt, and usually have a trial period of 30 to 60 days. Dogs settle in around 3 weeks and really feel at home by 3 months. If it’s meant to be it will be. ❤️

Please, please rescue a shelter dog. When my 15 year old cat passed away, I didn't want to get another pet. My daughter, who was young at the time, wanted another cat. Long story short, we now have 4 shelter pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats, and I couldn't imagine life without them. It doesn't diminish your love for Bailey; it's a testament to that love. Shelter animals so desperately need someone to love them. As a side note, we also went through the home inspection process and it's no big deal. Your family will pass with flying colors.

I think it would be wonderful to have a new addition to your family…never to replace Bailey, adding to the family. I will have my wrapping party of one…me tomorrow. I am still making ornaments for each gift…annual tradition that I started years ago. I think I just have a few more to make. As always I really enjoy our time together.

We took a group of third graders to see Clifford the Big Red Dog this week and it was great!! I know how you feel about a new dog. I lost my doodle earlier this year and I'm feeling like I'm finally ready for a new family member. 🐾 Enjoyed the sit and wrap video. ..nice after a very hectic last day of school before Christmas break. So I'm glad that you feel ready to have another dog. We lost our girl a year ago and I am ready for another dog but we moved in May and are in a rental so we cant have pets. Our new home will ready in February so I am doing my research now for when I am able to move forward. Good luck and I hope this dog works out for you. It fills your heart in such a great way! We are done shopping and are left with stocking stuffers. Im very excited and thank you for sharing this channel with us all.

Hi Crystal! This was fun! I'm so happy I'm done with the wrapping. I had a long 8 hour day session a couple of weeks ago. I do have to say, I go all out...ribbon, bows, tags, etc. I love to do it! I've wrapped one or two here and there but I think I'm officially done as of yesterday! I almost wish we had two weeks before Christmas. I just want to lay back a little longer and enjoy all the hard work! I also feel very depressed after Christmas. My daughter will be here with her boyfriend on Christmas Eve but I won't see her on Christmas Day. That really will be hard. I would love how she would be on one couch and I on another and we'd watch Christmas movies all day and nap while her dad was in another room watching football. I hope you get the rescue dog, but if not, there will be another dog in your future. Have a great weekend with family!
