I like the subtle use of 'worth keeping an eye on' immediately before the Channel 4 section... Also great to hear your memories of doing those first Christmas Wrapping videos way back in the dark ages. I still love watching those every bit as much as I did in 2008. Well done on creating great content for 10 years, and long may you continue to do so.
I remember xmas tv was something to get excited about. And the trailer packages and idents were all part of that. But that was a long time ago and I don't think that excitement about tv exists now. I know I don't really care anymore
Great to see you again! I wondered when youd make a review of idents. I hate the oneness idents and that Wonderland film is a bit sad. Bring back animations BBC for your idents at Christmas
I don't see why they couldn't do both. Have a little story with scenes then take those scenes and turn them into a variety of idents reminiscent of the past. Have a story scene then turn it into models on a turntable from 50 years ago.
That is indeed Cromer, as also seen at the climax of the Alan Partridge movie. Bit odd to use the seaside for winter instead of summer, but they have at least made a Oneness ident that isn’t bleakly shit in the process. Merry Christmas, and here’s to another 10 years.
Yes, I'd argue that Channel 5's Christmas ident has been the best one this year, even if the razor-toothed cat shadow seemed a bit scary for the kids! Hopefully Applemask can add that channel into the list for next year.
@@colinr0380 should have been done this year. No excuses. At least I managed to remember that channel existed as I have done my review on that ident on my channel
Something something Rediffusion 1967 Something Something. 😉 But, yeah. The BBC have just done a live action remake of the one from last year, on Cromer Pier. I'm hoping the BBC Two rebrand and indeed what ITV have planned for next year make BBC 1 drop Oneness. Channel 4 need some of the same, the Iron Giant has worn thin.
Applemask I see. Well, it doesn’t look shit as mics go but it always sounds like you’re about 4 light years away from it. If I may switch into job mode for a second, how are you addressing the mic (best answer I ever got to that question: “I usually call it “fucker” because it’s flakey as hell”)?
