Happy Halloween! I ran across this while going through some old VHS tapes recently. Christopher Lee hosting FRANKENSTEIN on the Sci-fi Channel in 1993, for Frankenstein Week.

Phantasm, Fright Night, Evil Dead, The Howling, Pupetmaster and all unscrambled and uncut those days, come on! That was a really cool channel to watch back then. I remember visiting it every weekend for horror movies and series like amazing stories until it went scrambled on april 4th. 1994 on G5-4. At first I wouldn't spend that much of my time seeing this channel since they would continuously repeat very old movies like Frankenstein and Dracula, but gradually caught my attention afterwards. I saw the pre-launch days of the channel, missed the premiere day, and tuned to the channel one morning at 11:00 am or so, and they were playing THE VIDEO DEAD (1987) movie in October or November 1992, a few days after the premiere date. BTW! Do you have more Sci-Fi Channel nostalgic videos?

I agree, the Scifi channel was pretty incredible in those early days. Don't think I have any more footage, unfortunately. But if I find any I'll be sure to post it!

I LOVE these 90s graphics! I wish I was aware of this back then. I was only 8 so I cared more for cartoons I guess...I only recently got into Universal horror classics. I didn't really start watching the sci-fi channel until 1999 with Sliders...then watched the channel up until early 2000s...probably garbage programing now. I heard they are trying to rebrand back into scifi horror stuff? I hope so. Get rid of that "realty tv" garbage! Also what an ugly logo they have now...however, I can understand changing it to SyFy so they can copyright stuff . The 2009 - 2017 logo looked pretty good but now what an ugly mess! lol Thanks for posting!

I've always been impressed by Christopher Lee, but finding that he was also descended from Mary Shelly is another reason to be so.
@drgangrene

I know! How cool that her descendant went on to play her creation in a film?

@@drgangrene She would have been proud of him. If you ask me, I never considered Frankenstein's creature a monster; he seemed more like a lost, scared child. For me, Frankenstein was the monster.

I didn't know that either, it's such a shame that He's still gone, He passed away In 2015 at the age of 93.

@@kathymoriarty1441 He lived his life to the fullest, and remained quite humble about it. He was my favourite actor since I was a child, although my mother never allowed me to watch his films during that time since I was too young. One of the reasons why I liked him so much is because he was also my mother's favourite.
