I first heard this song playing during a reception on a rooftop in Paris... The view was on a sunset. It was one of those moments when you realise how beautiful life can be if you can see it. This song grows on me every time I listen to it.
My husband loved this song, and played this group so much... Wish he were here to play these on the TV for me right now, missing you forever Darryll Eli Salvadori ♥️
When I think of Chromatics, it's this track that immediately radiates in my mind. A stunning realization of both their sound and aesthetic. As another user pointed out, it's a true modern classic. Love.
just wanted to pop in and say i love everybody reading this timeless, perfect song that defines a huge part of my life. i will forever be in the debt of this band and amazing label.
Not long ago I heard Shawdon and discovered Cherry and others too. Music is not to be heard, but felt. That’s how I see and have the music. I love various musical styles and collect them. I am Brazilian, and my roots are of an intense multiculturalism. Brazil is a barn where different cultures, especially in the phonographic context, meet, and sometimes homogenize. It is well known that our culture, in its most genuine form, is based on poetry, inherited lyricism and polished according to our way. Music is as metalinguistic as the noun "love". But despite the mixed feelings that the music conveys, there are some that convey a feeling that embraces all the others, and these two songs quoted from Chromatics are among others that convey to me the feeling of freedom.
Thanks Mr Robot for introducing me to this one - saw Johnny play live in London recently and it was great but wish I could've caught some Chromatics while it lasted 🥲
When the Rossini video for this one first hit the IDIB blog, I was working long hours/late nights in a freezing cold warehouse next to the Columbia River. Every turn I got at the radio, I was blasting IDIB. And others. But especially IDIB. It just fit. First time I heard this track I must've bounced it across those concrete walls 10 times straight.
it was cool that Nez & Rio sampled chromatics for the "man of the year" beat. a rough version of it first premiered at the end of the kendrick video "bitch don't kill my vibe". they released a snippet to test the waters then TDE reached out to us to clear the sample. ironically, our song and q's song were mastered by the same engineer in los angeles. he's up for a grammy for DAMN. this year. small world. Mike Bozzi mastered Oxymoron and To Pimp A Butterfly as well
