How come my reflections always look dull or off, It looks pretty decent before I render, with highlights and more of a "cinematic" look. But when I render it looks way off and dim. I got Metallic settings all the way up like in the video. What am I doing wrong? lol

Please can someone help me with a problem about 3D, When I try to render there's a shadowy thing over my 3D objects, especially when I try to brighten up it on the ''Infinite Light'' panel. It seems like it creates a shadowy duplicate of my 3D object and puts it on top of it... I'm losing my mind over it, hoping someone helps :(

They still haven't fixed the issue where if you use 3D bevel on some letters like "A" it will look cut at some places.

I love it when you do a Ps3D tutorial, Jesùs! Ps3D seems harder to learn than Ps2D, and your explanations help to clarify the concepts. Question: At ~20:14, you mention that the Materials sliders all changed names and functions in PsCC2020, and that the new Metallic slider roughly corresponds to the former "Reflection" slider. Could I talk you into doing another Ps3D tutorial where you expand on those PsCC2020 changes to the Materials sliders, showing us the correspondences and differences to the former sliders? Alternatively, could you provide us a link to where Adobe explains those changes? (I could not find any such explanation on the Adobe web site!) Thanks, again for all your helpful tutorials -- especially the Ps3D ones!

I swear, these tutorials always fail from the very first action listed (not just yours, pretty much every tutorial I try to follow). You converted it to Smart object and got the handles, not in my version... which is the latest. It seems I always have something different from whomever is leading the tutorial. Frustrating.

Heyy i have some troubles with the 3d element, i've done my text exactly like in your tutorial but Something goes wrong, i can't have a reflection on my 3d object I've also try to don't change the shape presset bc i wanna keep mu text flat, and i've also tried to change the materials (Glow, mettalic, etc) on only one side for keep the front of my text without reflection And now when i try to do your tuto again by following everythings you said i have an awefull result even if rendering... Is there a way to do the things i said earlier and have a great results with it ? Thanks a lot if you awnser me and sry for my realy bad english i'm a french boy ahaha

the 3D features seem to be disabled on PS 2022? I can't get them to work even though my graphics card meets the criteria and the 3D menu is not greyed out?

Unfortunately, Adobe is discontinuing 3D in the new versions of Photoshop 😞 it's not your video card.

It just doesn't work for me. I think I'll give up on 3D in Photoshop. I have a Corsair One, with very good specs, and even then I don't get the expected results. I just get sh*t. The metallic slider just does nothing.

Love your turorials but this one just is not very good. I ended up with a grey mud-colored font that had reflections on it. Not fit for purpose. Even the 3D fonts you did yourself are pretty bad.

I'm having so much trouble making the reflection and I have no idea why :( I follow all the steps and no matter how much I move the reflection slider it just doesn't work I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I can't really see the reflection in the sphere either, even though reflection is all the way up in all sides of the object and the base color is grey... 😭 anyone else with this problem or am I just dumb 😭

It's awesome to get a clear explanation of Photoshop's updated 3D module. One question about the video though - what is going on with the inside of the 'D'? It doesn't appear to have rendered properly. Is it a consequence of splitting and/or rotating the text? Is it possible to change the textures after doing the split to avoid the issue if that is the reason?

It seems Photoshop is now phasing out the 3D, as I didn't seem to have all the controls that you showed. I did manage to make a similar chrome-like image though so thanks for your helpful video!

I dont know what I am doing wrong but nothing I do is anything at all like this tutorial.. very frustrating.The default IBL is NOT like this tutorial. When I replace it.. NOTHING HAPPENS. Nothing is reflected.

for some reason, my computer is not showing the grid at the bottom or anything like that, once i create the 3d extrusion. can anyone help me out here? i've seen some stuff about open GL but i have an nvidia 1070ti, and my graphics drivers are up to date.

I'm facing same issue, and worse... My gizmo doesn't show up, and I can only see my text after render it It disappear from scene depending what I do. I have a NVidia GTX970 and it works great in C4D. My PS version is 21.2.9

When I got up to 16:21 and selected the 3D faces, there's no 'base colour' option anywhere. Only diffuse, specular, illumination and ambient. Also it's not showing the different parts of the material i'm choosing when I highlight each part of the object.

Go to "Edit" then click on "Preferences" select "3D" from there you go to "Performance" and then you check "Use Graphics Processor" you restart Photoshop and it will work.

Great tutorial. I couldn't use copy merged it was greyed out but managed by using Shift+Ctrl+C and Shift+Ctrl+V so happy days in the end. Thanks again for your great tutorials.
