I just saw this video while looking for a chromebook with 8gb ram. Thanx very much for this and your attention to details. You just found a new follower in me
One of the points you made in one of your replies, and what I certainly didn't think about when I just bought a Duet 5 is, the keyboard cannot be used when detached from the device. I had somehow assumed the keyboard can be remotely used via BlueToorh, but that turned out not to be the case. It's not a huge deal to me as I do have a BT keyboard I can use with it, but it woudl have been nice if the Duet 5 was a completely self-contained system in that regard.
I totally agree! I was a bit disappointed when I found this out myself because sometimes it's convenient to have the keyboard detached. So I took bought another keyboard! That's how they get you, isn't it?! 🫣😅
That means so much because I try to be very thorough and there is SO MUCH to cover on these devices. I'm looking to make more videos about it soon for more details. Thank you for your kind words. It means the world to me. 😥🙂🙏
Hi Adonai! Thanks for stopping by! Truly appreciate it! It is a good device for someone looking for a tablet and a laptop, but the tablet separates when needed. 🫡 If you can deal with the rectangle display ratio, it's not bad, but I realized after some time, it's a bit odd to be honest. 😐
the Chromebook Camera,, has a scan documents MODE & computational photography so you can blur backgrounds in portrait pictures with only one camera .. magic .. VIDEO can produce short GIF's TOO .. try CTRL / for HELP then top left THREE bars and "whats new" & "show previous update"
Should the keyboard disable when you fold it behind the screen or will you need to detach it in order for the keyboard not to be engaged? Also, cute doggo!
That's a great question tmitchell! The answer is no and yes. When you try to flip the keyboard behind the Duet 5, it comes detached, so you can't actually do this, but because it comes detached, the tablet itself automatically enters into tablet mode and disables the keyboard. They keyboard can only be used if connected to the tablet since it requires a physical connection. No bluetooth here. :)
Hi Wazzabanzook5028! That's an excellent question! This is an ok device, but I would opt for an actual 2 in 1 Chromebook. The problem with this, especially when it comes to using programs like Microsoft Office, is you can't use the Duet on your lap if you ever needed to. I would definitely definitely opt for the 2-in-1 laptop for a student or worker. 🙂
Hi there, anyone have recommendations for media consumption first and Microsoft office second? Looking for the best screen to watch live sports on the go and light work.
Hi there, I have a Duet 5 Chromebook 13Q7C6. I ma having a hard time to connect it with other wireless bluetooth multicanal sound device. Any hints for that
Hi Filzlaux, Personally I haven't used Kodi on this, but the good news it is on the Google Playstore for Chromebook and Chromebase, so I was able to download it to all my ChromeOS devices including Lenovo Duet5. The app appears to open fine. I would have to play with it to know if it's stable, but it looks promising on initial startup. I did check my videos on my Chromebase through this app and I was able to play one so performance should be similar for Duet5. Hope this helps. :)
,,, this Chromebook should get 8 years of updates every 4 weeks Chromebooks come with 100GB of cloud storage which is $15 a year afterwards ... get a $50 USB C HUB,, and get a 2nd HDMI for a 2nd SCREEN and Audio ports and USB ports, SD card slots, Ethernet wtc
I haven't had a chance to try the P11, but I was interested in it! Looks like a great device and reviews seem good. Just never picked one up. It ships with Android, so if you want more of an Android experience, that's the way to go compared to the ChromeOS experience on the Chromebook Duet 5. Chromebooks seem a little bit better for productivity while Android tablets seem a little bit better with games. If I was choosing between the two, that would be what helps me decide. Either way, the P11 should do good, especially if you get it with the bundle. It'll allow you to get some productivity stuff done as well. 😃
I really like it for reading and watching shows. Gaming with the gyroscope is a little more tough, but this should also work great with cloud gaming and a controller. Not so great for high demanding task like video editing, in which case I'd opt for a higher end Chromebook. 😎
Hi Nufski, I would say it depends on what the realtor is looking to accomplish. Are there specific apps or programs that need to be worked with? Will it be used at a table or desk for the majority of time? This device can be challenging to use in a car or on the lap, so a more traditional Chromebook laptop (or convertible) would be the route to go in that situation. Great question and I'm hoping to help out if you have more details. 🫡
Thanks for the informative video, good job!😁 I have one on order, and look forward to hands on. One thing that looks like a flaw in design, is the detachable rear cover. Why make it detachable? When being permanently attached would increase the overall strength and security? I might have to deploy the superglue. 😉
