Thank you very much Dr Ro for taking so much time to share about the kidney drugs. Also Dadvice TV too. May God shower you both and your families with an abundant of blessings always! Amen.🙏🕯️🌹
I received Dr. Ro's book last week. I am hoping to arm myself with knowledge to better understand what is happening to my kidneys. I saw a nephrologist and the first thing she did was order new medicine to control my blood pressure . My forner PCP never recommended any change. I'm hopeful my labs will show improvement on next appointment.
Hi guys coming from Germany I was in that study emo kidney and since I take that drug I fell much better but it took a view Years to show.I am going maybe in to a new study next week.Coming from Stuttgart I watch your show regularly thank U so much for your knowledge.
I was doing well on Diovan, when my insurance changed their formulary and wouldn't pay for it any more. They insisted that I could use any of the generic forms available. Not true, I've had so many side effects...worst was the COUGHING. I coughed so hard I threw up, and ended up with a hiatal hernia!

Just had a 2 day stint in the hospital to get rid of an infection. I've been on Farxiga for 6 months and Jardiance for 15 months before that. My eGFR was in the low 60's before I started taking these drugs. My eGFR when I got to the hospital was 35. After 2 bags of saline and some time my eGFR was 57. My doctor took me off the farxiga.

I'm 75. I've had light pain in my left front groin and strong pain on my right rear below ribs.. Not as bad now but was excruciating; nearly couldn't walk...Also, my urine is foamy...Could be all the diet cola I was drinking and Pringles I was eating daily for months. I assume I have a kidney infection and maybe a stone...I've diabetes and take Metformin and Jardiance. Thanks for all the professional and inspirational info here...I will see my primary Dr. soon..
I tried losartan and valsartan. Both increased my creatinine from about 1.6 to 2.2 after several months of use. Primary care doctor said I was allergic to them and stopped
I’ve been on an ACE inhibitor since at least my mid thirties for high blood pressure. The other drugs(ie calcium channel blockers) and others have done nothing for me. …. I had issues with low potassium several years ago and was treated at the hospital for it…..

Hello James, My mom has started taking BP drug called CILACAR 20 MG(CILNIDIPINE) , she’s been experiencing Swollen legs and both feet. does anyone else experienced it? please let me know
But Spot uACR can be altered by many factors such as muscle mass etc which can overestimate or underestimate the result so i think 24 hour is still better given the patient is well informed about the process
My kidney function was low but in the normal range. My doctor put me on the max dosage of Jardiance (25 mg) and My eGFR went from 60 to 40 in 4 months. Potassium, creatine, and BUN levels crazy high. If you have never taken JARDIANCE and your doc wants to pout you on the max dose right out of the gate tell him no and go on the 10 mg to first see how you can handle it.
there is work on an artificial kidney, but that is looking to be ready around 2030. There are some improvements to home dialysis coming that leverage some of the work from the artificial kidney - the next type of home dialysis machines are much easier and safer.
@@lisahill3406people with kidney disease need avoid too much fruit and juice because of the potassium that could built up in the body that harm the heart because the kidney can't process get it out of the body.. Even vegetables, not all vegetables are equal and good for kidneys
I had five UTIs due to BPH and was given 3 regimes of cipro, and one each of bactrim and some other antibiotic, I then read that such drugs damage kidneys, cipro particularly, Now I have CKD, somewhere @ stage 3. Is what I read correct?
I was just watching your video about fasting & kidney disease a moment ago... I go check your latest video to find how you are now. You seem to have gained weight. Thanks for all the info.
Be very careful with fasting. Fasting can raise your ketone levels. Ketones and diabetes go hand in hand. If you are diabetic, you DON'T want this happening as high ketones can cause diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
Hey, in the beginning you said you want to explain a bit more what it means to be on "the maximum tolerated dose" of an ACE/ARB. Can you please elaborate on this? Is this meant Blood pressure not below 110? Or not passing out when standing up? Thanks!

In India these drugs (...pril and ...tan) are available in combination with diuretic (HCTZ ). I am not sure if they are available without any kind of combination. If yes, please share the name of the brand .....or if need to get in combination, what is the appropriate dosage for 1+ albumin in urine routine and 236 spot microalbumin/creatinine ratio. Thanks 🙏

Everyone is asking the doctor questions here and not getting any answers. I personally did not get any concrete answers from this video. What exactly should we do to slow down the progression of kidney disease? I get that protein in the urine is the problem but how do we treat this? Anyone?
What do you do when you have protein but your blood pressure is so low? I’m having to increase sodium to keep my Bp up enough. I can only take 12.5mg of Losartan. I want to take more to help the protein. Any suggestions?
I have the very same question . My BP is getting low , so I had to stop the telmisartan 40mg . I still have Trace protein in urinalysis. If you found any answer , please help me
Like I mentioned my nephrologist told me to increase my sodium intake to up my BP so I could take a larger dose of the heart medication. I’m now on Lisinopril 5mg hoping I can raise it more.
@@cindybarton8779 thank you . On one hand they tell you to limit salt intake at the start & then would tell you to increase it so one can take their medicine. Extremely confusing

I'm 73, history of kidney stones and damaged kidneys. My tests show 44 gfr, protein 7.0, Creatinine 1.21, Protein 7.0, Bun 34. I had slightly better test results a year ago. I do not have high blood pressure and I am not diabetic. What can I do to improve? Facing another procedure to remove stones again. Ugh
@@thecruisediva I tried that for many months and it didn’t work. I perhaps should have tried a different brand. Last go around I had surgery to remove 5 stones in my left kidney. The two largest ones were the size of golf balls. The surgeon said he had never seen them that large. They certainly damaged my kidney. The right kidney was damaged from stones too. Had lithotripsy to remove 17 small stones at age 34. It’s been a journey of a lifetime. I now need a 8mm stones plus some smaller stones to be removed again in my right kidney. Seeing the Urologist in April. GFR at 40 now.
I knew a man who had kidney stones so much that the surgeon finally told him to drink one cup of tap water as hot as you can first thing in the morning. He never had another one after starting the daily hot water.
These are 2 different types of blood pressure medications. Your doctor would prescribe one of them for you based on your health and other medications you are taking. The great news is these are VERY affordable and have been around for a long time.
