I have just discovered his series of teaching videos! Wish I had had these during my 40 years as an RN! I have chronic venous insufficiency and his explanation is by far the best one I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much Dr Campbell!! I’m now a faithful subscriber
Look up Duplex vein mapping scan. I had this carried out on my left leg in 2018 at a private clinic in London. This scan can identify every individual incompetent vein, including small perforator veins. I went on to have EVLAT together with TRLOP followed, after a necessary gap, with Ultrasound Foam Guided Sclerotherapy. Was the best money I ever spent because after suffering for years with venous leg ulcers through a past long misdiagnosed DVT I haven’t looked back. The NHS is incapable of treating perforator veins because they do not employ Phlebologists (vein specialists) Vascular Surgeons are not vein specialists. I initially had one done from the NHS, but it was inadequate and did not identify the four perforators that were incompetent.
Hi Dr Campbell I have just been diagnosed with Venus ensufficiency syndrome What can I do about this serious problem Do u consult with patients from Melbourne Australia? I have looked at all 4 of your video’s Best Triciabar
incompetent vein --> back pressure in the capillary (which btw, is carrying oxygenated blood) --> decreased flow rate in the capillary --> decreased RBC flow --> hypoxia Also, fibrin cuff --> hypoxia In short, the incompetent vein is impacting the associated capillary (with oxygenated blood), and that is how we have hypoxia here
I was and still am a very athletic, slim, fit runner yet I still suffered venous incompetence, but have now had private treatments at a vein clinic in London in 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Was the best money I ever spent. Our UK NHS is incapable of these treatments and instead of treating the underlying cause will only ‘just manage’ symptoms.
@@eveoakley6270 Hello, I hope you are feeling better now. I don’t have visible varicose veins but I have the symptoms. I have very weird feelings in my left calf but it doesn’t feel like pain or anything. It’s like heaviness, tiredness and sometimes burning. Did you have them?
@@idkwhoiam__ you may have invisible varicose veins, which is what I had. The first symptom I had was a small ulcer that formed in the inside if my left ankle. They were only correctly identified by the Endovenous Duplex vein mapping Scan that I eventually had to pay for at the clinic in London. The treatments I had should be carried out by a Vein Scientist (Phlebologist) working together with an Interventional Radiologist. The scan must be done while standing up. I read all sorts of horror stories from people who’s doctors turn them away claiming they can’t be helped. I was one of those people 12 years ago until I got fed up and done loads of research on vein procedures. The professor who’s clinic I had my procedures at was the pioneer of laser surgery and carried out the first one in the UK in 1998. My procedures cost approximately £6,000, but worth every penny to be rid of those horrible compression bandages, pain, and visits to those awful leg ulcer clinics. I also started running again 👍🏻
