This session i decided to target the local river / creek in search of its predatory fish. Iused my new lures including jerkbaits and jigs to nail some decent perch, pike and chub! www.fishingtac... www.abugarcia-f...
More great content, Chris. Quite an advert today on why I've switched over completely to singles over trebles. Possibly slightly lower hook-up rate, but I'll gladly take that over less damage to fish that are being returned. Added bonus, less tangles in your net, tackle box and fingers!
@@lolrobin I've used Daiwa, Gamakatsu, VMC and Decoy (for saltwater lures). They all produce replacement inline single lure hooks. The hook eye on all these hooks are enlarged and twisted 90 degrees so they sit in line with the lure.
There is no better motivation or hype to go fishing than a ginger fisherman video. Every video gets better and better! Can't believe you don't have a sponsor yet!
it seems popular to use these lures with too many trebles and too big hooks, i use a size 8 and use barbless ,i loose very few fish but i seen so many perch pike and chub with hook damaged mouths and the fish out of the water too long being stressed with a big hole in his mouth coz the angler cant get it out gently and quickly.
Another awesome vid Chris. That Perch was a beauty!☺ I have to agree with a lot of the comments here though....Get yourself a bigger landing net and an extendable pole. It will save you a lot of bother in the long run.
Singles for chub are easier, not just helping stop nasty hookups but when a chub is in the net it goes mental. Trebles can get stuck in your net material if it's not rubber. Nice videos, thank you, best wishes, JC
Great video really enjoying them rockfish rods are awesome for the money great action love mine awesome for crank baits i only fish barbless hooks for all my lure fishing ihave replaced all my lures with barbless only, para
Just catching up on these and thanks to you, I've just ordered a McSnack bait. If I don't catch with it once we get back on the rivers, I shan't watch another of your videos ever again! 😁 That looks like a very good river you're on!
82'5k views, 1.6k likes! Da fuq is wrong folk? It doesn't even take a second and zero energy yo click the like button, but that's still too much to ask? Keep up the great work, Chris, always much appreciated, dude.
it always amazes me how some rivers you can catch chub on slugs and others you never get a bite on them lures are the same for every river that you get them on a lure there are many more you won,t even on the same river up stream yes down stream no,,i remember years ago anglers catching chub on grass hoppers and elderberries ,we tried both for weeks and weeks never had a sniff so it does not work every where ,good video ,,are the rivers chalk or clay bottomed ,well great vid and tight lines,,
My local river looks similar to that but a fraction of the fish stocks. I was amazed the other day to see you with Rob Hughes on Fishing On The Bank. That perch you lost at the net looked huge...
I find it really difficult to catch fish on film lately. And you watch these videos and he hooks up for fun. Think cameras bring me bad luck. Nice video mate
Trebles cause a lot of damage when inexperienced anglers use them. No criticism of your use , but worth telling new anglers to beware of this problem. Great video and much enjoyed
Brilliant videos and commentary. Videos keep me occupied on my work breaks. Do you do any “ how to “ videos? Just like how you tie your legs and what traces you use for your ultralight fishing for perch? Much appreciated and top man 😀
Would you do a video rigging a jerkbait/plug with one single hook at the back? You can even rig the jerk bait type lure straight through to the hook so the lure then slides up the line and they can't lever off. I'd be really interested to see how many you laand, especially pike. I think/hope it would work well and be good for the fish. Thanks for the great videos!
Have you thought about switching to semi barbless treble hooks? I've switched all my lures over after having trouble with pike being hooked on both treble hooks. Makes unhooking easier and a lot quicker.
Another great upliad Chris, good detailed explanation of lures for those who appreciate the differences. Ive asked before bud, but which glasses do you use? Im after a good pair of polarized sunnies Rich
15:11 I this a Optical Illusion of the Camera, or Is the Rod tip come out or snapped?. Bigger Extending Net. There are loads of Fold Up easy to carry light weight ones on the market. Crush some of the Treble Barbs. Thanks for Uploading.
Love the vids but hate the fact you talk with the hook left in the month, I now everyone does it bit I don't see the need but again love watching your vids
Great video. Quick Q if I may? What are the pro's/con's and why do you use each set up, for the normal underhand reel and the over hand reel? Do the two different set ups do something different than each other? Cheers.
Really like the style of fishing. But I have to say, those fish are coming in really quick (US style) and some of then didnt look ready to be landed. Combined with all those barbs and a very shallow net, I do feel fish welfare could've been a little better on this occasion. Respectfully.
I know this is an older video, but I have been watching loads of your content recently, I have been looking at getting myself a new baitcaster rod a reel, really like the one you have at 3:30. Could I get some information on what brand and spec it is? Cheers
I know I have asked this question in one of your other videos, but, can you please 🙏 tell me what your set up is, rod - reel, are you using braid? Information please rod + baitcaster. Many thanks Les.
Just need advice from anyone I’ve just started fishing for pike with bait and lures I have a spot near my house but haven’t caught anything in about three weeks how important is moving/changing spots
Nice video Chris! Can you tell me which rod you are use from the Abu Garcia IKE range. Length and casting weight specs would be helpful. Jason @JNDfishing
