This build is so well thought out and executed. This thing is an anvil. The no nonsense approach with proven and dead reliable components is a master class in back to basics building that stems from experience and knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to show Chubby.
On my 8274 I run Master Pull 10,000 lb rope. It’s expensive but made in the USA. I got 125 ft on it with plenty of room left. It’s held up very well and is a lot easier to handle.
Hey, can you show or describe how you did the bar behind your seat for your harness? I have the same top on my TJ and it is so tight I’m thinking I need to use a combination of flat bar and tube. Unless I get shorter.
Great build.... I don’t think there is anything I would change.... the tires really set it off not to mention the traction. Lots of hard work really paid off. Hope to have my XJ back off road again and run with you and Matt. As always none of the boring stuff ...but Bleeping Jeep fun.
Awesome rig! I love the welder, got to add that to my rig, I run the same winch ,and every one hates on it till it snatches them out.! Grate job Jeremy .
What up bud!! Now I wished I'd checked that rig out a bit closer when we were at Dixie Run. It was by far my favorite as far as looks. But, I'm kinda into the old school rods anyways. I did see the Power Welder in action but I didn't realize you had all that done to it. BTW, I'm gonna rob your cooler/console idea. Badass ride buddy!! Hope to see yall once I finally get my junk together!! Later bro!
That is one bad ass old school scrambler! That SOB just freaking works! I cannot believe that you’re still running leaf springs and granny low four speed, but hats off to you, that thing works like a champ!
One of the best “walk around” vids I’ve seen. Just enough talking mixed with action clips. Nice humble review of a man and his rig. Well done. Always liked this Jeep!
If you want to reduce the size of your tool box and yet keep the tools from bouncing around in the box. I suggest you put in a false bottom or a another box/s to take up the room that you think you can get away with. Than if at some time you want to put more stuff in the tool box just take out one or more of the smaller boxes to accomodate your needs. Good luck.
I think your truck is absolutely amazing!can you please tell me what kind of cooler that is that fits between your seats cuz I would like one for my Jeep also please????
Is that fiberglass lookin whip the only antenna you have? Seems like the cb, the marine radio and a vhf radio should at least need one more antenna for the vhf and marine radio to share? Very nice scrambler-always wanted one. Thanks for the video.
I totally agree with you! But I have it filled with like rags and large plastic containers to try to take up room for bouncing! But I haven't figured out a better solution so it's staying for now
Those tires are amazing, I love the other features you've added to the chubby chaser like the welder and air system. Some great and functional additions
I picked up a premier welder a few years back. I think it has all the wiring and everything but no install diagrams....happen to have one you could send me??? Great looking CJ!!!
Good video. I love the fact that you have leaf springs. Simple just my style. Ever consider a shack flip for the front? Do you like waffles? I do, I was eating some wile I was watching your video.
wait, what,?,!. the "old" warn 8274 sounds crazy.!. at 13:09 jeremy says it winds in at *75' per minute* the new warn vr10 winds in at 2.3" a minute !!!
@@jeremyrose7541 yea man.!. i knew they were way faster than the average winch, but i did not realize they were *over 32x as fast* ! now i really want one but the price tag will make me have wait and wish. lol thanks for the walk-around !
Hell yea!! Chubby Chaser!! Been looking forward to seeing this. I know I’ve been bugging you about it on instagram I’m “@Tj6jeep” it was worth the wait. Love the new Mickeys. The whole build is sick. Hope I get to check it out in person sometime, maybe catch you and Matt at Windrock sometime.
I have a 84 scrambler jeep. same hard top . 14 bolt. Dana 44 front. 513 gears air lockers. Supercharger. hydro steering .37 inch tires its a blast to drive
Great rig. All Biz with just the right amount of creature comforts. Tunes? Check. Cold drink? Check. Lunch warming up? Check. Cool, lets go drive over stuff. Favorite parts? gotta be the axles and the LS. Keep us in the loop about those bad ass MT meats.
By far the best walk around video! I may have missed it ...it is obvious that your axles are locked...how? selectable? spool? Thanks for a great video!
Hand down the best winch in the 8,000 lbs class. Lot of line at time can be helpful and like said super fast line speed. Wish they would make a 10,000 or 12,000 lbs one.
I'm putting a bigger horsepower motor on it here soon! We have no idea to say that it's rated for more than 8,000. But I'm sure it will be. I picked up a new motor from warn with more horsepower
Even at the 8k rating ,with the amount of line, and speed, a snatch block isn't terribly inconvenient. I love seeing a leaf sprung rig get whooped. One bad jeep👌
Jeremy, bitchin CJ. Are the BDS springs you have on there a full pack or did you remove a leaf or two? It sits lower than I would of thought for a spring over with 4" lift springs. I'm running stock height YJ springs on my spring over and it sits higher than yours
They have all the Leafs that come with him from BDS. They settle in pretty quick right after I put them on because I flex them out pretty hard. So they run just about level they don't have a whole lot of arch which I like keeping it lower
That is one sick Scrambler! Gotta ask, though: where's the sexy chubby girl to ride shotgun??? Can't call your Jeep the Chubby Chaser and then not show us a hottie with some dangerous curves! LoL 😂
A whole video on chubby chaser and no fat chick's in it like a music video, with the end of the video stating no chubby chick's were harmed in the making of this video.
Love it! I’m building a 14 bolt with Ballistic Fab shave for my ‘82 Scrambler. I’m looking at widening the stance and I noticed your outboard spring perches... I would love to know more about your process when building those
There's nothing like a jeep period. Awesome video and build my friend. I have a jeep wrangler Rubicon jk has lift 40 tires 513 gears Dana 60 axels floating axels front and rear lockers and a hemi engine in it. It's a blast off roading or on hwy.
I had a 72 Toyota Land Cruiser that I put a hot Chevy motor in, and I did some off-road bullshit, but years later I got into dirt bikes and I realized real quick that it was a totally different world compared to riding a big heavy vehicle in the woods. When I was taking my Land Cruiser in the woods I'd be lucky to average 5 mph going through huge mud bogs. Years later when I got into dirt bikes I realized how superior a dirt bike is to an off-road SUV as the SUV's go through mud puddles at about five mph, whereas I could go blasting by the mud puddles at 30 mph. When I had the Land Cruiser I could spend the whole day in the woods and only see five miles of it. When I got a dirt bike I could spend half a day in the woods and see miles and miles of woods. Forty miles regularly. Oh well, to each his own.
All this time and I had no idea about all the details you put into it. Damn that's badass having the welder in the dash and the front bumper air tank also. I'm going to check out one of those cookers from the truck stop now too
From the hit count alone You might have to take that girl on a road trip to do some trails now that you have some new bling on it. Plenty of rock and sand out west for you to become famous ( or would that be infamous )on. Truck is looking killer with the wheels and tires, just looks like it wants to eat mud and rocks now.
That is an awesome build. What are the gears that you run in the axles and what is the overall crawl ratio? My favorite feature - that it is a CJ8 Scrambler.
Back in the day on work trucks Old timers always said the old mopar twin piston ac compressors were the best for air.I believe they were dual stage too
Would be cool if u explained what some of those things are. Wtf is a Dana 6 and a 14 bolt shaved down? Not everyone is a gearhead versed in the gear wars
hi there so i own a 1947 willy's jeep and i was watching this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZhY7yQpSFU4.html and i was wondering if you know what color the jeep is at 5:50 on this video and also do you know where you can get a metal roof like that
Nice man, beautiful Jeep. On my third Jeep now. Went luxury. 2017 Grand Cherokee Limited. Nicest and most comfy Jeep I have ever owned. Bought in 2017. If anyone is on this channel and doesn't know, Jeep are good in the Summer AND Winter. So fun and make life easier all year around. If you have never owned a Jeep, I suggest trying one out.
Super cool!!! If you want more out of the L59, look at heads/cam/tune. With the right combination, it shouldn't be too hard to get the torque numbers into the upper 400s without too much trouble. What's your trans? 4l60e? Overall... I LOVE this build. You should leave the driveshafts candycane.. they really stand out!
@@jeremyrose7541 Sweet Jesus.. I must've had a little too much beer watching this video last night.. The transmission would explain the super long shift lever sticking up from the trans tunnel. LOL.
Hey Jeremy, I love the 8274! What electric control do you have on it, the stock or aftermarket? I ask as I bought a 8274 but it needs the controls. It also needs cable or I was looking to get synthetic rope but the longest I found was about 100 feet.
The rope I would talk to custom splice I know they have a hundred and twenty-five foot. That's about the longest you're going to get because the Rope is bigger than a cable. As for the controls currently I'm running the four stocks solenoids! But I am converting that over to a contactor here this weekend in a new series about the winch.
