"Basscination" - The Complete Online Bass Method:
If you feel too old to start learning the bass or you started early in your life and then stopped due to job, career, family etc. and now want to pick it up again here’s the right course for you.
I’m a bass teacher for now over 35 years, have written three best-selling bass teaching textbooks in Germany and run my own musicschool since 2007.
The “Basscination” bass course is a structured, organized course that takes you step by step from absolute beginner to advanced. With only 30 minutes practice time for 3-4 times a week you can make noticeable and steady progress.
The complete “Basscination” course is devided into 3 modules with 12 units each. In the beginner module 1 the focus is set to the four fundamental pillars of good bass playing:
1. Playing technique for right and left hand
2. Fretboard knowledge
3. Music reading
4. Rhythm
5. Song workouts
Each unit contains interrelated exercises to these topics with several of my unique videos with moving cursors, a multipage instruction e-Book with explanations, notation and additional informations and corresponding backing tracks to play along with.
No more stupid boring exercises!
Every exercise is made into a little musical etude that is fun to play and sounds like a real song. Thus practicing becomes fun and motivating.
If you become a $20 patron on my PATREON page, you get access to my “Complete Online Bass Method”.

Never thought this song's bassline was this busy.
@bravo915
@bravo915 3 года назад
its not, theres a lot of improvising here. The actual bassline is a bit easier, but this one sounds great too. If the original is a 5 out of 10 difficulty, this one is a 12.
@rwsansom76
@rwsansom76 2 года назад
@@bravo915 actually, it is this busy on the original 1958 recording. Willie Dixon played the double bass, and the quick arpeggios he plays don’t consistently cut through the mix thanks to it being recorded live at the same time as the piano and drums. But If you listen to the recording on quality headsets, you will hear Willie doing those fast 8th note runs.

Truly amazing how good Willie Dixon was!! Deserves more credit for his bass playing. He is mainly known as a genius songwriter! Almost all of Howling Wolf and Muddy waters songs and so many others!

I'm blown away. Looking for what I thought was a simple bass line, what Willie Dixon does on this song is tasty. Great transcription. I'm just a guitar player who thought he could thrown down a quick bass line to practice the guitar part with. This is beyond what I expected. Well done!

Wow the bass line is harder than the lead guitar. Awesome. I can spot a couple of rough spots as I am a child of the fifties and know every note and nuance by heart, but I can't play it that well and I've played guitar all my life! But, in the pocket all the way and maintaining that drive that you have to have to play rock and roll.
@CS_Mango

I would never say harder. Bass and guitar perform a different role after all.

Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans Way back up in the woods among the evergreens There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode Who never ever learned to read or write so well But he could play a guitar just like a-ringin' a bell Go, go Go Johnny, go, go Go Johnny, go, go Go Johnny, go, go Go Johnny, go, go Johnny B. Goode He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track Oh, the engineers would see him sitting in the shade Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made The people passing by they would stop and say "Oh my what that little country boy could play" Go, go Go Johnny, go, go Go Johnny, go, go Go Johnny, go, go Go Johnny, go, go Johnny B. Goode

This is such a strange line, I wonder why he chose to play the high C over the F chord most times? It is the 5th, but still strange.
@Itsahelluvabeer
@Itsahelluvabeer 2 года назад
That's not even the cool part - if you listen to the recording, on the second bar of the F chord he often starts on C# (the augmented fifth of the chord) and even plays the note twice! Too bad it didn't make it into this transcription but this Tom guy gets many other things right.
