This was my bed time song… 1973… on a cassette .. played on the stereo in the front room downstairs, volume up, so I became immersed in the music and floated away … I remember a story. I remember a woman singing. Am how I felt safe and alright while this song played.

The horns are spellbinding. It must be said: this drummer is no slouch. Freaking crisp.

The lovely and fluid soprano sax lines are by Gerry Niewood (who died in the 2009 plane crash coming into Rochester in a snowstorm). This song in a different version also appears on the album they made a year later, "Land of Make Believe," from 1973. Gerry Niewood! Loved him. Someone said the original quartet,' but the first time I heard Chuck and gerry together was with Steve Gadd and Tony Levin, live from Montreaux I think. Excellent album.

This is Ron Davis on drums not Joe Labarbera. Ron was a dear friend and I talked about this record with him plus I used to own it. I think Joe is on the other one with with the vocalist. Ron was a great drummer and person!! I miss him dearly. Died way too young!!!!

A friend wants to play this in a band, but it doesnt sound like the bass or guitar is doing much....... Mostly horns n drums
