I think he was diagnosed with cancer the first time when he'd had it treated, but it came back I think as well its then he never told Paul as he wanted to be like Tommy Cooper who he really liked who of course died on stage from essentially heart failure (even made me laugh watching that a little but then the reality of it, actually the snoring you hear him make is due to the throat muscles becoming flaccid forgot what its called though is given something death I think something like that) feel incredibly sorry as had he got it treated he'd still be here gutted truly Almost makes me personally want to be angry with Barry but can't really he was really lovely
ChuckleVision went for 22 yrs. The BBC were really good to them. Fond memories of watching it on tv after coming home from school. I once saw Paul in my local Asda and said hello. He's a nice bloke. Shame i never got the chance to see Barry though.
Paul is quite a character and based on interviews Barry was quieter. Those two were born to entertain. One day i might bump into Paul again as he doesn't live that far from me and when's he not busy he's in my local Asda quite often. That time i saw him ''To me to you'' popped into my head. I nearly said it to him as well.
I saw them at least nine times over the years including after the shows and last time I saw them was 2012 which was their Pirates of the river rother 2 tour. Met them after this tour as well and they were very down to earth and very friendly people. Had the privilege of shaking their hands. A great double act which knew their craft well. Personally my favourite double act of all time. Unfortunately we will probably never see slapstick as good as this again. Old style slapstick like this will continue to live on. Also the last act of their kind. Never see the likes of these again.
