"enter slice & dice -> survivor drops pallet -> you kick the pallet -> you're still in hidey-ho and can still catch up with a slice and dice" sounds like the new big strategy. Brutal Strength could be really good for him.
Well, I guess I have to hurry up and get the achievment before the PTB gets Live Overall, a "great" change. Now Chuckster is basically another rush killer like Blight and Wesker. Just with a bit of stealth sprinkled on top and a massive handicap of 110% speed
I actually disagree completely. Except at god pallets, Scamper only really got you hits if the survivor was careless anyways. And with that horrendously long cooldown, you couldn't really afford to use Chucky's power for stealth anyways unless you 100% KNEW where someone was, which became difficult due to his low mobility requiring slowdown perks. So where do you use Hidey Ho mode? Chase only. Where the stealth is a moot point and the only thing that matters is a midrange dash and a fast vault effect, just like Agent Smith himself. But now you can just pop in stealth with no hesitation because the cooldown is much more forgiving, half of Ghostface's in fact. So in my view, he lost a part of his kit that's inconsequential unless the survivors are easily confused, and gained FEASIBLE stealth. Something none of the other dash killers have without high level addons.
@poissonsumac7922 I know it would sound funny, considering my first comment... But I kinda agree I got my achievement an hour or so ago. And it's just like you said. M1'ing a survivor after Scamper in 3 seconds is next to impossible unless a survivor is caught off-guard. And even then, it's a tight fit Then again, I think Chucky is a weak killer overall. His stealth is non-existent because he has a habit of laughing at the worst possible time. His size is countered by his ghostly footsteps. His chase is decent, but without an ability to curve I just can't make his power work around loops. Oh, and his 110 speed? That's the final nail in the coffin. That's why it's so surprising to me that BHVR are actually nerfing him
@@poison5343that’s ALL it could really counter was unsafe pallets and still they could get away, Chucky was not as hard to fight as people think it was just a bunch of people who refuse to ever learn
I'm more a surv main but i've to say that scamper wasn't that much to deal with. Most of the times you could expect when Chucky was going to scamper and prevent the hit. It was funny in my opinion. I think it was better if he could still scamper but after that he would've lose his power so he couldn't scamper again or use Slice & Dice.
@@Leaf__22 Bro, it took Chucky 1.5 seconds for him to complete a scamper, giving you plenty of time to turn back around to the other side of loop again, you just can’t get good at playing survivor even though it’s clear that’s the only faction you ever play as.
Exactly and that's what I've been saying, this game is so Survivor sided it's disgusting , I love using the little red add-on hard hat so I can just go right under it break the pallet and hit the Survivor but now you got to get a running start to slide under it when the Survivor can just go to whatever side it's just a waste of time and survivor sided for sure
@@douglasbreno4966or.....when he scampered they can just vault during it. Prevents pre droppers but stops Chucky from hurting good loopers with spam. Hed yell something like wait your turn bitch
@@douglasbreno4966are you both dumb? When a chucky scampers they attack they dont then do a slicey dice putting it on cool down does not change shit yall know nothing
I kind of agree. Like maybe have scampering under a pallet just end hidey-ho mode. Because if Chucky just scampers under a pallet and can’t use slice and dice afterwards, you’re probably going to be able to make it back around.
it's not a good change, I started playing Killer because of Chucky and his problem isn't with the Scamper it's with map pressure. He's still slow enough that he needs Gen slowdown perks to stand a real chance, scamper helped with closing out loops that he simply can't slice & dice on. taking scamper away opens a huge gap now on certain loops because you cannot flick during the power with scampering under a pallet. Like the survivor literally has to be running in a straight line to get value from it which they almost never do. If they brought back his flick from the PTB maybe then this change would work but they didn't so this is a hard nerf which sucks, I mean you can still win with him but it will be a bit harder.
Imagine playing huntress without axes. It would be a nightmare because of her slow ass speed, thats chucky now, a slow ass doll with a dash. Loops are going to be stressful AF with him. And gens will definitely pop more frequently, because chucky slow ass is still in chase.
@@sps4563 It's not. I get what BHVR was going for but Scamper is pretty useless now. Like, the reduced cool down for Hidey Ho was needed since release but the Scamper part just makes it totally useless other than vaulting.
As a Chucky main, I won’t cry about scampering being taken out. But I do think removing it was just unnecessary. I feel like being on cooldown after a scampering would’ve helped a lot of people out more but alas.. Twitter and Reddit users cry a lot. Overall, his changes are fine but I do think a scamper cooldown would’ve benefited more.
I think this change is pretty good. The one thing I think it needs is to allow Chucky to rotate during a Scamper like a LoPro Billy so that a rushed Scamper isn't useless due to the fact survivors can turn. Other than that, the fact that Chucky can now pop stealth whenever he feels like it without being heavily penalized incentivizes some sneaky gameplay, which is something the other rush killers can't do. Before this buff, stealth just wasn't really on the table because of how damning that cooldown was relative to the amount of stealth you got, meaning that facet ended up dumped out the window in favor of using the power only in chase. But now you have the option of using it for stealth and getting it back twice as fast as Ghostface anyways! I'm quite excited to see how sneaky he can be now.
There's another change they talked about, now there's a cool down of 1 second when cancelling the Slice and Dice charge up. I'm not English so I could be wrong, but isn't it a slight nerf?
It is a slight nerf but it does almost nothing. The cooldown isn't movement speed, it just prevents him from charging the ability again immediately. Not a huge deal really
most people on comments thinks chucky got nerfed, i follow the top 1 chucky and she said, chuck is much stronger now, with really less cooldown to slice and dice, and his scamper still works on windows, so strong to use it with bamboozle, survs are really goingo to cry about him now
Thank you so much for this vid. I'm new and I've been trying like crazy to figure out what I was doing wrong that I could not scamper under pallets. I think they forgot to change the tooltip for the power, so it's misleading now.
I know it’s objectively an improvement with the reduced cooldown, especially given that scampering would only really help against careless survivors. But it was such a fun ability and felt really good to use, and having to chain it during a slice and dice just feels really clunky and unsatisfying
I love the 12 second cooldown cause I can use Hidey-Ho alot more & that we can still use the Hidey-Ho window mind game. I rarely scamper under pallets anyways so this is a win for me. 🔥🔥
The pallet nerf was so unnecessary. that ability is basically useless now because it’s damn near impossible to hit anyone after scampering under a pallet and immediately charging afterwards. It’s becoming very obvious that they don’t test these at all
Scamper was not a problem, it was just a mindgame opportunity. Even with dedicated addons, you wouldn't get a survivor just by scampering mindlessly and following them blindly. This is going to be a big hit in Chucky's kill and pick rate.
Having played Chucky a bit (albeit on PS5), he's now useless. It's not hard to dodge his dash in the open, and pallets now completely shut him down. It is actually better to just break the pallet.
Why couldn't they just increase the Scamper time by a few seconds? By their changes it kills the killer's power a lot. Just increase the animation from 1.4 to 1.7-1.8 seconds (for example) THAT'S IT!
Scamper is kinda useless now. Nobody uses it during Slice and Dice, like it was never good to use Scamper during a Slice and Dice unless for chaining vault memes. It might as well not be there at all it's that bad.
Also, I dont agree with the removal of scampering without slice and dice still. Yeah sure, it nice he got buffs to power cooldown speed and in general scamper speed, but when they said "scampering lead to unencounterable hits" i completely disagreed with the devs. Its not Chucky's fault the survivor either messes up their loop or doesnt leave it entirely and gets hit.
Im ngl i really dont like having to use slice and dice to scamper how will you do the double vault mind games on shack with survivors that actually use their ears??
Were people really complaining about chucky? As a survivor main, I thought he was fine, and really fun to face. Playing him was fun. As well. BHVR always making unnecessary changes. 🙄
@@MissionControlDRGnah BHVR just sucks ass I feel like they nerfed license killers because they want their killers to get more attention I mean Freddy Kruger was broken before the rework and now he’s mid and they won’t fix him but nurse is still broken but they won’t do anything because it’s their killer
Of course he was just like every other killer if a Survivor gets owned multiple times by certain killers they complain about him. Coming from someone that plays Survivor 50% of the time also this game is definitely survivor's sided
seems chucky got worse around loops espeically pallets! but better in the open and more stealth time eitherway idk! being force to slice in dice is kinda STUPID! since this game doesn't punish survivors who pre drop scamper actually did, now that is completely gone.
How was it easily counterable if a survivor drops the pallet chicly can just immediately scamper over it and the survivor has no reaction to it and if your able to trick the survivor by going one way which makes them go to the pallet and scamper over it it’s basically a guarantee m hit
@@BlackDeath662if you predrop against Chucky don’t you have to at least expect him to go under the pallet? Plus wdym there is no reaction he laughs and switches stance when he enters hide ho mode.
Look, if it continues to work in windows, maybe it won't be so bad. I've been playing Chucky to see how much I depend on the scamper, and maybe being able to break the pallet and then use Slice&Dice would be good... We'll see...
I personally hate this change. If the idea of the killer was to be illusive and stealthy, why didn’t they make his stealth any more reliable and instead just made him more likely to repeatedly use slice and dice in chase? The longer cooldown felt like an incentive to time your slice and dice whereas now you just get it back quickly enough to not matter. IMO the previous cooldown but with an extended hidey-ho duration would have made more sense, at least if they made his laughing while in hidey-ho a little less consistent.
This is the things that i never get of survivors complains against Chucky "Scamper is very OP, you can't do anything against him" -Well, Wesker vaults the pallet and recovers fast, Legion can fast vault with his power the times wherever he/she wants, Knight can destroy the pallet quickly, Vecna can fly the pallet (this is assuming he will get buff in the Live) "Chucky's flicks can't be predictable, soooo OP" -Wesker still can hug tech in surface where is supposed not, Blight still can do it, Hillbilly now does it better, Oni can do it "The power feels now very quickly, why it was buff, it was fine with 18 secs" -Wesker can recover it in 5 secs, Nurse can recover her power almost instantly, Blight with the nerfs still getting a quick recovering, Spirit also has a decent recovery of her power I'm thinking people complained about Chucky so much for the toxic players, but since the PTB he was a fun killer, easy to understand, easy to master and now he got butchered
Wesker vault is a last resort since it takes about the same time as a scamper, but then it goes into the slowdown+ animation for like 2 more seconds and going into cooldown, giving plenty of time to outplay that on 99% of pallets. Legion isn't even comparable since the power can't even lead to a down unless like 10 poor choices happened beforehand. Chucky had unlimited pallet interaction so 0 mind games on the pallet worked which kinda makes it a boring power to go against. I haven't played against Chucky for a while now, but from what I remember and heard from others - it's really just a timer power, the change is to fix that a bit.
Im a killer main and i can tell u why Chucky scamper was a problem. Wesker and legion both can vault pallets and windows rapidly, however: Wesker has a long cooldown of 2.5 seconds after vaulting Window or pallet in which he's slowed down and he's also out of his power, remember that wesker takes 1.5 seconds to ready his power its not instant like Chucky. Legion has no cooldown with the power and can continuously vault until the duration expires, but he cannot down with his power unless its a 5th chain hit. Chucky can insta enter his power, scamper had only 1 second animation and 0 slowdown after it and it also didn't interrupt the power. Honestly, scamper imo was overnerfed, imo it should have been that after scampering you exit power and it goes in cooldown, that would have made it a bit more fair and less no-skill since it couldn't be spammed, BUT IT NEEDED A NERF
@@bigenemy000You're forgetting that in that comparison those killers are faster than Chucky. They by doing so can hurt the survivor faster than he can. So even if they turn on the pallet, Chucky will lose more time than them. And if he breaks the pallet as he is slower he loses much more distance than legion and wesker. And let's not talk about the knight or vecna they just walk by as if the pallet was never there. How powerful is Chucky a killer that can give you a hit every 20 seconds. Even the trapper pretending to set a trap is better they literally left Chucky with no choice he has to break the pallet obligatory. For that I even prefer the mindgames of sadako Ghostface and the pig. It's like you're trying to use the huntress or the witch in loops without using their powers wtf
I don’t see people getting hits with scamper very often if ever, survivor can just hard turn after a vault and avoid it easily, at least the cooldown is much better.
Exactly it's not going to work. Behavior just likes catering to survivors left and right and worrying about their stupid charms more than leaving killers how they're supposed to be I mean they're even nursing clowns perk people complained about that it's just getting ridiculous with this game
A lot more broken pallets now 😂😂 i think they should give him a cucumber as a weapon, and that he can only use it when turning around 3 times. But seriously are they gonna rework some add ons as well then? As the hard hat was almost useless but will be completly now 😅
Chuck's slice and dice is so easy to hit and now they are making the cooldown faster, this feels unhealthy people are going to be complaining how he constantly has his power
This is gonna be cancer if it goes live, dead zones make him even more stronger now and he will constantly be stealthy and in his power while being so small. His attack is already so ez to hit, and now they make it come back quicker.
As a p100 ps5 chucky no it won't I also have a pc and went and tested the changes with my controller on the new ptb he's even stronger survivors are about to cry alot
It’s amazing how people see this as a bad lesson cooldown means more stealth and power usage, in return they took away a pretty unhealthy part of his kit idc who you are scampering under a pallet was just a guaranteed hit for the killer there was no skill involved and it was just cheap But in return he can use his slice and dice more often which means he can shut down chases faster if you’re good enough
That would be true of he was not a 110% killer for some reason. Truth is Scamper was always counterable on any non-God pallet if the survivor was good enough and knew what he was doing, but God forbid survivor mains have to learn a new skill.
Honestly everything in this is welcome to me because to me what makes Chucky good is being a hit and run or ambush style killer similar to Wraith and I’m not gonna lie the old meta of “Have your power charged, wait for pallet, scamper, hit” was honestly very boring and sometimes depending on the loop didn’t even guarantee a hit so I’m happy the change makes it more challenging to play him. Honestly now that I think about it this is gonna make him “Child’s Play” if you equip Brutal Strength tho because the new strategy could be “Wait for power, force them to drop pallet then brutal strength it and checkmate since you’re still in Hidey Ho mode just catch up with slice and dice” honestly this change might make him even stronger because of how quickly he’ll shred through pallets now /:
Removed the... y'know....realism? I get its balanced but that's his whole point. Hes small amd can slip through things. Kinda kills his roleplay potential other than voicelines but it's hard to ti hear over the gens BBINNNGGGG
Stupid, they keep messing up killers. This game is really survivor sided. I should be able to just slide under a pallet, not have to start running. But leave it to behavior to get rid of things that work . As soon as survivors complain about something, that's it 😂.
Nope. Just nope. I honestly don't like these changes. Slice n' Dish is fine, but now being unable to scamper normally to mind-game survivors is going to be a challenge at the most difficult loops, especially with their movement speed.
Definitely a nerf. As a survivor main I wanna say this is great for us because it keeps Chucky more skill based only because now you’re forced to think “can I slice and dice this?” Rather than “Should I?” Because going under pallets is not skillful and it rewards killers with a hit (the same way Legion being able to vault pallets is not “skill”) However I can see how this immediately raises the skill ceiling for Chucky since he can no longer crawl under and instead is forced to track survivors through the animation and predict their movement in order to secure a hit. It is 100% much more harder to do now than before but it’s also more “skillful” and makes his gameplay more dynamic since survivors have a chance to dodge while killers have to focus hard to get that snipe.
