Usually when you encounter chukar partridges you hear loud screeches and then see them flying off or maybe some scurrying for cover a hundred yards or so away. It's not very often that one just sort of stands there in front of you. Anyways, chukar are an invasive species, just like donkeys and tumbleweeds.
As usual, this video features one of my annoying, but original, songs. I shot the video of the bird last Sunday while on a hike in the Argus Range near Trona, California.
