@@pachiroth7848 I'm not sure how expensive he could even get, considering he's been spoiled as one of the headliners for the suite of Brawl decks that will come with Throne of Eldraine... so in that context, I dont really think Wizards would want to make those 60 card decks all that expensive (or people just wouldnt buy them), and there will probably be a few other goodies in them. So just by virtue of probably a lot of Supply to meet the demand, I wouldnt expect this guy to be super expensive, at least not initially...
Due to the sheer popularity of commander, I have a feeling that commander players are going to be buying these brawl pre-cons more than actual brawl players, this is basically an extra commander pre-con product for us.
Quick "how'd you not mention this" list: - Intruder Alarm: Play creature, untap dorks, draw card, tap dorks to activate Chulane, repeat until deck is drawn. - Aluren: Play all the things! - Memnite, Ornithopter, Phyrexian Walker, Shield Sphere: 0-drop creatures that don't immediately die - Sunscape Familiar: Is cheap, makes other things cheap, what more do you want? - Mirari's Wake, Mana Reflection: Mana doublers to get the most out of ... - Storm Cauldron: Now you'll always have an additional land to put down with Chulane's trigger. - Overburden: Another way to guarantee land drops while also interfering with opponents - Amulet of Vigor: Combo piece with a whole mess of stuff. - Evolution Sage: High-value landfall trigger - Tamiyo, Field Researcher: Seems kind of perfect for this deck, really. - Alhammarret's Archive: Double your fun.
Don't forget: Admonition Angel is 2 triggers. So with the landfall trigger on the stack, you bounce her back to your hand. Exiling what you targeted forever.
Worth mentioning that Chulane lets you play a weird version of Amulet Titan without the Titan. You get the Amulet in play, hold a Karoo, and then every time you cast a creature (like Shrieking Drake, maybe) you play the Karoo, tap it, bounce it with its own trigger, and generate some mana. It seems pretty easy to generate tons of mana and draw your entire deck that way.
Random combo I thought of when I saw the activated ability: Cloud of Faeries Intruder Alarm 2 mana dorks Infinite mana Infinite draws I can see SOOOO many more potential combos with that activated ability. Definitely nothing to scoff at.
so I am excited, bant was my first commander deck! I always wanted a token cross +1/+1 counter commander, this isn't it but some land fall effects make tokens and that's good enough for me.
So with abundance and chulane in play, cast a whitemane lion, get a cast trigger for card draw and land drop. Choose land for abundance and put that land you get onto the battlefield. Whitemane lion enters and bounces itself, rinse and repeat. Would that work? The trigger to draw and play a land is one single effect so can abundance interrupt that?
Admonition Angel's ability can also be used to target your own creatures with ETB effects and then you can use the commander's ability and return the angel to your hand and then all your ETB creatures re-enter the battlefield under your control re-triggering their effects!
Would you consider making a revamped $50 budget deck update of Tatyova, she is one of the sweetest Commanders and I would love to build her now with a $50 budget. Thanks you're the best Mitch!
the very second i saw this card i started brewing a hydra deck with the vast majority of them with X in their cost, so you can repeatedly cast them over and again at increasing sizes. and because the color combination, Phyrexian unlife, Melira, Peema, Darksteel forge, mycosynth lattice, leyline of sanctity, and wheel of sun and moon have all made it into the list as well...
I was thinking that Stone-Seeder Hierophant and a Bounce land could be used as a mana engine. Also, Beast Whisperer adds card draw redundancy. Finally, Seton, Krosan Protector and Gilt-Leaf Archdruid can provide some tribal synergies since every single creature card I just mentioned is a druid along with your commander and Tatyova.
Can kind of go elf tribal and once savage pair comes out drop/draw your deck. A lightning greaves and something like hurricane for 40 after you gain life off wellwisher. TBH you can do that with pair in nearly any elf based deck but the added value of drawn cards and extra lands means likely entire deck into play in a turn. Some tutors, counters, and silence and like effects protects you.
I think cards that are absolute includes is wood elf. Cast trigger, gets a forest of any kind untapped. Then both mystic snake and the included mystic frilled.
Fiend Hunter is not as good as Admonition Angel, but can still take advantage of the bounce effect to exile another target forever. He also fits very nicely in this deck (I run both Admonition Angel and Fiend Hunter in mine,). I play my Chulane with some ways to bounce for repeated value, but I don't try to abuse it, instead going for value and putting a lot of stuff on the board with Avenger of Zendikar and the like, then buffing everything with Finale of Devastation, playing it perhaps alot more green than usual. Chulane is indeed very powerful, as all are commanders where you can get a lot of repeated value. I do run flavor cards like Kamahl, Fist of Krosa because he is a druid and one of my favorite Legends of Old (and also a funny way to buff my guys for a final assault, and protect me from board wipes ;) ) instead of broken stuff like Aluren, so my deck probably is not the best it can be. Really fun though! Still, I play against very high end Sliver decks and Vampire decks like Markov, so I would be lying if I said I don't enjoy exiling all the nasty slivers and vampires. I also would be lying if I said I don't enjoy destroying broken enchantments like Aura Shards(I do not run it in this deck) and Sanguine bond by casting Rec Sage repeatedly.
Intruder Alarm + some mana dorks (I would say at least 4 or fewer if you have the ones that generates more than one mana) + peregrine drake = endless draw, mana, landfall and etb effects
Hm. I doubt this will be budget, but Emmeria Shepard has given me kind of a weird idea: Bant Reanimator. Even though Sultai is better for this strategy, there is a pretty significant amount of bring back to the battlefield effects in white. Granted they aren't cast triggers, but if we use our cast creatures to generate our value plan to get us to the big stuff we want to cheat into play from the graveyard, that could be an interesting direction to take him. Dunno how I'd get it to work, but its an idea.
This replaces Edric Spymaster is Trest for me, because this with Tatyovia and a bunch of 1/1s for 1, you could probably draw and play nearly your whole deck. And the most expensive card is Concordant Crossroads.
I liked your quick tech thanks it helps me with putting a deck together. And I've been picking up some powerful staples for others of my decks. Thanks to your other video my Saheeli artifact deck is op ty
Ready to hear some REAL Value for this guy? Whitemane Lion + Abundance + Chulane Whitemane Lion bounces a creature you control back to your hand upon ETB for 2 mana (Target itself) Abundance lets you choose between Land or Nonland when you go to draw (You want to choose land each time) Basically, you just ramp like there is no tomorrow
I ended up with a copy of Chulane after stripping out the cards I wanted, and he sat there a while... until I realized he was the kind of ramp engine I needed to finally make an Eldrazi deck.
For bigger upgrades I suggest Earthcraft. Building the deck around low costing guys with ETB-ish benefits (wood elves, farhaven elf) and while controlling Earthcraft should win you the game. I honestly see this commander as almost a slower Animar. And with that said, Cloudstone Curio should do well in this deck also.
Great Video! There is a comparison to Roon of the Hidden Realm, here. I strongly suspect this commander will supplant him as the go-to bant blink commander.
I'm thinking on building a different strategy for chulane, more likely to focus on a Blink/Etb effect. Hoping to see your definitive build for this deck.
My friend has this with Roon. I remade the deck with Chulane. The mana threshold is very high to go off with this. So essentially you just play counter spells, ramp, board wipe, and hard value sticks. Then watch as you beat everyone and they no longer want to play with you lol. I’ve been observing how often I win this this strategy. I’ve been going 50%+ wins in almost all play groups I enter into now. The skill cap is very high but once you master it. You can watch people accuse you of running a C EDH deck when you are just out value playing them in reality.
If you mean creatures that tutor lands once they etb, the sequencing doesn't work since Chulane's ability is a cast trigger, not an etb trigger. This means you must put the land first instead of ordering your abilities on the stack.
@@MrEgomaniac oh, so if Chelane were "when a creature enters the battlefield..." instead of "When you cast a creature spell..." the land tutor plan would work?
@@somewhathandsome5288 That's correct. You can still put those sorts of creatures in the deck, but you'll have to cast an extra creature to get it out on the same turn, or if you haven't played a land that turn.
These are the perfect colors for an enchantment deck.. since Chulane will be kill on spot to stop you from drawing cards, with the enchantresses they wont even slow you down. Card draw plus ramp and some blue control...nasty stuff
You included a lot of enablers but what do you want to cast in the late game? With a lot of mana, it feels kind of tame to just cast a bunch of cheap creatures.
So first off, he’s got Beast Whisperer text. Second, he gets you mana. Seems like you could pseudo-storm off with value 1-drops. Potentially quite explosive
This Commander seems awesome, but I’ll have to think of something different than landfall. I already have a Karametra deck that goes ham on that strategy. I love that it’s a growth spiral on a stick though.
This guy looks awesome tbh. I'm trying to make a budget fungus deck around Thelon right now, but after I'm done with that I might have to consider this guy lol.
You missed the casual infinite draw combo using shrieking drake and storm cauldron. Simply throw a laboratory maniac or Jace Wielder of Mysteries for an easy win.
duude thank you for this! I was wondering if there were any spells that allowed you to get another creature from your library to the battlefield direct when you cast a creature spell and you've shown me wild pair! Now I just fixed my problem of not getting the right creatures at the right time because despite all the good card draw and tutor spells i have in my green/white/black I still had a problem of getting the creature I need for a specific situation but wild pair is gonna help me out big time with that now XD
hey i think you should do some videos on budget tiny leader i started planning out a green white tribal cat deck in tiny leader and i think your knowledge would help the decks
