The only reason those large glass winemakers work is they have a small opening and they're supposed to be filled up all the way and left to sit and ferment. Some, but very little oxygen is supposed to get in during the fermenting process. Trying to ferment 1/4 full is just asking for spoilage. Not that the unwashed feet, bread yeast, wrong grapes and lack of knowledge wasn't also bad, but that much oxygen is death to slow fermentation.
I would hope so, but the stuff that came out was still a little foggy and off-colored. But knowing what I know about this show, it was replaced for sure.
