"The problem with The Problem With Saxophones was that it never saw the light of the day after it was originally recorded in 1979-1980. Thus few - VERY few - people have ever heard these recordings. Consider yourself among the select"
Yves Bisquet NYC2007
Chumps (and not The Chumps, and Austin 90's punk band) is a unique band in D.C. punk/hardcore scene with only one compilation of their work named "The problem with saxophones", a 1980 release, with a 2007 australian edition distributed at U.S. by Dischord Records.
------
It was about time for someone to upload tunes of this great and very influential "australopitepunkrockhardcore band" here in the YT; and some recognition of their work is needed.
Gorgo is a very intense artwork and an easy listening noisy tune; it's sax line ought to have a vertigo effect upon unprepared ears and provide delightful eletrical discharges for the rest...
--- it should sound raw and clayish, if so, you're walking on the bridge they built to connect the impulsive plastic art monster we have inside us and the possibility to convey and try to tame it it through music --.
Some people point them Chumps to be very determinant on D.C's punk/hardcore scene, for they provided conditions for and accompanied Jad Fair's Half Japanese and Bad Brains' first gigs; it is good stuff, people! =)
The video is a "Windows Live Movie Maker" very simple production; i randomly attached some pictures of their (one and only!) CD (n. 459-500) booklet and it's inside art, as well as it's sleeve notes; snapshots provided by Nikon D5100 18-55mm in April 2nd, 2013.
