As a Norwegian-American raised in the Lutheran church -- this was one of the best plays I've ever seen. My cousin and I attended a live version of this, and laughed at all the right places. My guess is there weren't too many other Norwegian-Americans in the audience. The best part of Christmas was all the "pale food" specialties we enjoyed during Christmas dinner (lefse, kumla, kringla, rice pudding, etc.)
