Having worked with young girls who''ve suffered multiple child sexual abuse - basically repeated rape I find it completely incomprehensible that the C of E should be opposed to people opposed to child abuse. I've seen the effects and it is absolutely devastating. My only comment is the consequences of child abuse are so awful and so ugly that I really don't see how it's a good subject for a pop song. The song would need to be written very poetically as the reality is so dark that it needs to be handled with a great need of sensitivity

AS for kings defending their subjects, can't see it myself . History shows the opposite. They had power to force the serfs to sacrifice their lives in land grabbing wars to extend the kings wealth and power .

It is a fair point if we elected a dictator they would probably get a lot more done without any opposition. But would they be considered an actual dictator if they were democratically elected every year or two?

The Crown has unique constitutional powers which gives it precedence over Parliament ..The 1920 Emergency Act gives the Sovereign authority to declare a State of Emergency by proclamation. Meaning our King could dissolve Parliament and appoint a new government and Prime Minister. The king is also Commander in chief of the armed forces .They swear allegiance to the Crown NOT to Parliament . And as for the traditional role of the King going into battle to defend his people, I don't see it. Quite the opposite. The poor serfs were forced to give their lives in wars that increased the kings power and wealth. If they survived they went back to a life of toil and poverty.
