the main thing I love about you and david is you’re so real. as a christian I suffer from EXTREME anxiety and I’ve always been told “you don’t have enough faith” “you’re not a real christian” “stop worrying and trust God” so it always lead me away from God cuz I felt as if I wasn’t worthy enough or that I wasn’t a good christian and it would make me question God and I would lose faith, cuz they always make things look all sunshine and butterflies and that God will make your life perfect and you’ll have no struggles. so I never knew where I stood as a christian cuz I was like “why am I different?” but your podcast shows struggling is okay and it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you and that doesn’t mean you’re not a good christian and that struggling as a christian is normal. david’s music shows struggling with it is okay too. you have both saved and helped me in SO many ways, and I want you both to know it. God is USING you guys!! I love you both so much. 🫶🏼💕
Thank you so much for having the courage to speak up about these things, it's so so important to have these conversations about how horribly people have abused their power within churches. It's also super important for christians who do not subscribe to organized religion to feel less alone, and empowered in their journey with their faith and calling out people who use it as an excuse to commit horrible crimes.
I see what your saying. I agree it’s important to have discernment and be a part of a church that stands on the Word of God. I still feel it’s important as the body of Christ to fellowship with like minded people, and be with a bible believing church that can walk along side you. Who can encourage you. Pray for you. Challenge you. I totally get what your saying though as an x- Mormon. That’s exactly why when I left, I didn’t join any one denomination, but went to a bible preaching bible believing church. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I thought if this scripture when you were talking and wanted to share. Hebrews 10:25.. “Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Yes! I totally agree. The Bible says that the Church is the Bride of Christ!! God calls us to love the church throughout its mistakes. This does not mean we support everything it does, we are called to hold it accountable.
