You guys rock, I grew up in okeechobee and have waded all over that lake as a kid. So many changes have happened Over the years, including the over population of alligators. Blue Gabe I REALLY appreciate you helping spread the word about water issues and clarifying the importance of not pointing fingers and playing the blame game. Can’t believe they still make beetle spins. I used them all the time on lake Winnebago in Wisconsin for crappie and bluegill and sometimes a bass hits it. I’m 45, and was around 10-12 when using them. Just to give you a sense at how long they’ve been around. Thanks Gabe for bringing back those memories from childhood. Now that I live in Florida and a few hours from that lake maybe I’ll give it a try one day if my disability doesn’t effect the journey, and I can find someone with a boat lol. Wink wink Gabe 😃🥲

BlueGàbe, you're everything I strive to be. I'm stationed down at Homestead Air Base and I just bought my first boat, a 14ft jon boat. I mimic all your videos the best I can. I'm a new fisherman so I'm learning but I learn most of everything I know from yours and Kelly's vids. Omg spending a weekend with bulegabe and kelly fishing and everything else that comes along would be absolutely the biggest highlight ever in my life besides having children. Its always been a dream of mine. I've been following for years this account may say only a year or so but I've forgotten alot of my passwords and had to get new accounts and bulegabe and his brother Robert are basically the first to get typed in and watched. Gabe if you want a killer side dish, try long slicing a potato 1/4" thick, brush with olive oil, sprinkle with bacon salt and grill, they are amazing!

A beetle spin was my favorite lure growing up, we didn't have a lot of choices in color but white with black poke a dots and yellow with black stripes. They cought any type of fish!

I moved to Florida in September of 2023 and caught my first Mayan Cichlid last month on a Rooster Tail, they are fighters and very fun to catch. Fried one up tonight and made tacos out of them. they were phenomenal to eat.

the jig spinner on that beetle spin is a great addition, in larger sizes, to put on any jig you wanna catch more fish with. Any bait shop should have them, or can get them for you :)

I fish those little clothes pin spinners for crappie in my local reservoirs. Last time I vetical jigged them in 20 ft or water and caught a few small ones.

Great video gabe. Just a thought for maybe a future video. More of a to help future generations, and you could involve the boys. Teaching kids some basic knots, and proper ways to handle fresh/salt water fish. To help the young kids get more engaged with being outdoors and learning to fish. I do speak from experience as i grew up with a single mother and it wasnt till someone taught me the basics that i appreciate the outdoors and fishing the most.

When i was a kid there was a place in the naples fl called the (south blocks). A grid of old road systems that was gonna be a huge housing development like the villages. These roads would lead to no where except a place we called bad luck Prairie. Look it up, between alligator alley and us 41 between naples and Everglades city. These rodes would lead to a lot of management areas as well. With yellow gates up no( trust passing) and a bunch of warning signs. Well i went in them gates. Be hind the gates the roads went for miles. Came across a huge clearing like a really wide lime rock road with small ponds all in a row as far as you can see. They where full of peacock bass. Well i had a rod and beetlespin in the back of the truck so threw it in the first pond had really small ones the next pound a little bigger peacocks the next pound a little bigger and so on. I mean it had to be hundreds of pond and thousands and thousands of fish. This is like late 80 early 90s no joke i think peacock bass where bred in these pounds and released in the Canal systems. Wouldn't be hard if you known where im talking about

Hey Gabe when you season your fish get some seasoning down inside the slitch you cut. Also slice a lemon in 1/2 and after you cut the slits rub the lemon over the fish inside the splits then season the fish.
