For context Cid Kagenou (the dude in all black) is from the eminence in shadow. Makato misumi (the unattractive one on the bottom) is from moonlit fantasy As for the battle. Misumi would get everything aside from biq, iq, skills and experience. Though misumi is skilled with a bow. Cids mastered every martial art and many weapons. As for experience cid was 18 when he died in his past life and is 15 in the anime. Giving him 33 years old experience. Whereas makato didn’t die in the story and just got kidnapped by a goddess when he was 17 or 18.
Both Cid and Makoto are supposed to be average looking lol it’s just Makoto looks ugly in his verse cause everyone apparently looks like a greek demigod

So for context, as much as I know about 2 shows and some bits from around the manga etc, Cid's greatest ability is to constantly pump out 99% magic power trough his slime. On tge flip side Makoto is a different breed. Due to how his parent transported him to Earth world. He was constatly restreicted and with that when he was taken by the godess or more corectly the past god, he unlocked that restriction and his power was sky rocketing from the start. And in the show its explained that when he shot his bow he basicly died from too much concentration and with that action his mana was increasing INSANLY, on par with the godess. What this Video didn't account for is that unlike Cid who's simply trying to live his full dedication to the art of Chuuni, Makoto is a legit Psychopath, complete with the instinct of a serial killer.
One thing that I'm starting to notice, is that anyone who does a vid Luke this and includes either an isekai charecter, or a fantasy charecter, never adds a mana criteria. If more people would measure based on mana pools then we'd have less power debates, makoto no diffs simply based on mana alone. He's seven demon kings at base, then more because his power has grown substantially since the beginning of the series, and makoto has more experience with his abilities specifically. Not based off of fighting experience, makoto wins, cause he has a better understanding of how strong he is.
Not sure how strong makoto is in the novel but cid in the novel literally one shot a demon king from another dimension that was known for destroying universes and the novel is still ongoing. Make with that what you will. He has also not once shown his full power in the entire series. Him literally not using his full power one shot a universal level demon king. Also people saying Makotos energy is th equivalent of multiple demon kings are stupid. That doesn’t really mean shit because demon kings from different series have different power levels. For instance Anos voldigoad and akuto sai are demon kings in their respective series and they’re so powerful in their novels they could literally delete the universe makoto is in.

In the eyes of many Cid wins because... he's just popular. Popular because anime is trending. And because of Delta. You can't reason with people like that. While anime is popular, they will foam at their mouths defending it. As of the season 1 ending for each anime, Cid would win in a battle because of his sheer speed. Though Makato gets stronger much faster than Cid does so that's not the case for manga or later seasons.

Idk dude Shadow may not have imense power but he has alot of power with techniques which makes him op. How one guy explained it - he can read his opponent and figure out their fighting style and range from just looking at them. And when he know that he places his opponent in his range and can execute his moves perfectly. And even if his opponent doesnt give him rest he doges the moves with minimal movement by adjusting by just a few milliliters and by doging like that he can create an oppeing in his opponent and strike with a single blow and end the fight. Basicly cid knows that having power means nothing without proper usage of it and proper technique but if he had to chose between power and technique he would chose power everytime. Most of his fights end by him just doging and sharpening his senses and movements with magic and than striking a vital spot as soon as he finds an opening

If i understood corectly he put everything he had in that explosion blast where he fought the 2 demons the godess sent after him and made a explosion almost the same size as Cid with his ATOMIC so at that point i dont think he could win. Later on maybe idk how much more powerfull he got so yeah i think Cid wipes him cause he has power alot of fighting styles from Earth and has good observation and can understand how his opponents fight really quickly and can adjust to their attacks

I will say that Makoto isn’t even close to his full potential by the end of season 1. For those that haven’t seen it yet, he actually has the ability to make himself infinitely stronger (he just doesn’t want to). He also has only the basics of magic, he hasn’t learned anything advanced so far. In terms of raw power, his stat is Infinity.
But Makoto has rings and coat that absorbs his mana drastically. So he is holding back and he mana is now compared to a goddess who created the world he lives, so he is planetary .

They are not absolute but when the difference is abysmal, even if Cid scratches the barrier, Makoto will simply repair the barrier, strengthen it even more and make an attack with his bow using creation magic so that it is inescapable and Cid is Oneshotted.

From my prospective (a guy who hasn't read either manga and only anime), it depends on distance. Shadow has shown to be able to instantly kill someone from a far distance but I'm not sure exactly how far. Makoto specializes in long range attacks so not only would it be better for a long range mage to be far away but it would also be bad for a swordsman to be far away in his battle. As far as I've seen, Makoto cant heal himself so as long as Shadow can get a lethal blow in, he wins but he would have to be close. I suppose Shadow can still use his slime to make long range high-speed projectiles if it really does come down to long range but I think Makoto would be able to react fast enough to at least block that. Again, I have only watched the anime with these characters. I have not read the manga.

Isekai satire vs isekai reconstruction! Satire is making fun of something. One way to do so is exagerrate aspects of an isekai, of which Eminence in Shadow does with the power fantasy aspect. Reconstruction is to break down the fundementals of a genre by giving them realistic or pessimistic results, which is called a deconstruction, and then rebuild those fundementals in a different manner so they could have similar results to how they were before deconstruction. Everyone is scared af of Makoto because of his powers(deconstruction), but since he's a good leader and a nice person, everyone still loves him(reconstruction).

Oh the ignorance. The fact that makoto in the begining of the series seemed weak is because he has no reason to kill others or atleast destroy the world of the goddess. Further in the series it is known that in other parallel universe a version of makoto destroyed the world after he got transported and humiliated by the goddess. Makoto seemed weak now because he has no reason to use violence. There is also a version of makoto that eradicated every living species of that said world, be it hyuman, demi hyuman and demons. Most of these version he didnt meet tomoe and or tomoe died and got killed so makoto destroyed everything.

No, in the end of season one that was already disproven when they used the item that removes the goddesses protection, and Makoto 's physical abilities are already above Cid's abilities, considering his main weapon is a bow.
Only divine ability Makoto was given was his Kai technique by Tsukuyomi, and it has next to no offensive combat application and is almost useless as a shield. Makoto had tried and found that out real quick. At best it can defend from low level attacks and apply indirect debuffs like silencing, but most often he just uses it as a stealth or sensory ability. Everything Makoto can do with regards to magic and offensive combat is his own skill and innate ability. The Goddess - spiteful insect that she is - only gave him the ability to understand the world's native languages while simultaneously cursing him to prevent Makoto from ever speaking the hyuman "Common" language. Makoto's just built different, and his most powerful traits were acquired without him ever realizing what he was doing until after the fact. A better comparison would be to say that the difference between them was that Cid was reborn into a stronger body with magic while Makoto was just plucked from his world and dropped into another as he was.
