It wasn't a great game but what is good is giving more time for the new players. Oddly it felt a bit like a friendly so to get a win and see some fantastic penalties also joe Walsh save late on in game as important as penalty save. Looking positive dare I say.

On the basis that we are a team in transition, I am seeing some promising developments on the pitch. Colback was doing some good work last night, and I wouldn't have taken him off when we did. Excellent work by Paal, and Smyth is a dangerous player for us. But there are times we just don't take charge of the situation and things are too slow and too deliberate. Cannot wait for this team to understand each other and gel. I genuinely am not worried by Lyndon moving on, though I'd like to keep him for another window.

Lyndon is clearly a really great guy but as our main striker in many games… 37 goals in 165 appearances is just not good enough. I wish him much success at Birmingham.
