To me this song is a before and an after. i remember being 17, it was a stormy afternoon, i was riding my bike in a small town away from home, months away from finishing high school (when one is "supposed" to know what you want to do with your life) and then this particular sentence hit me "you can drive all night, looking for the answers in the pouring rain" i swear i had to stop right there in the middle of the street to contemplate my life and live that exact moment. it was magical

So beautiful that i won't ever dedicate it to anybody.

me when i was 18 and had a crush on a 27 year old

okay so this song has a story for me. last year (i was 20 at the time) i went on a kinda blind date with a boy (also 20) that i had only talked to via texts or phone calls. i wasn't really into him, he was a little too overbearing, but the friend that set us up was putting a lot of pressure on me so i decided not to cancel the date even though i felt enormous doubt about it. halfway through the date i could tell the dude was super dorky and funny which is kinda adorable i guess. BUT our personalities were nothing alike. i didn't feel comfortable around him at all during the entire date. we didn't have any common interests to talk about so it resulted in awkward silence on my behalf and awkward word-spitting on his. we didn't have any common interests - except this band. and then, while he was driving me back to my place, he put on this song and sang with full lung capacity and made me laugh for the first time in that date. now, when i think about it and remember that moment, it seems to me the date wasn't that bad.

me every time i step inside the shower:

in february i met this guy at the gym. he was from switzerland and i’m from portugal. when he left i promised him i’d go to switzerland to visit him. in april i went there, we weren’t dating but on april 9th i had the most magical day ever. we were riding our bikes while watching the sunset. later that night we lost eachother’s vcards. we went our separate ways and got back in july. we’re doing long distance now but if it’s meant to be it will. this song describes that day.
