What i love about lost in translation is that most ppl can relate - that platonic love that could have been something more is the one that will always haunt you.
Lost in Translation is one of my favorite movies for the characters, plot and cinematography. One of my favorites CAS songs is this one. Making a marriage of these two is pure brilliance for whoever did it.

I stumbled upon Cigarettes After Sex when life was tough and my future seemed bleak, and now, as I look ahead to a brighter future, it reminds me of how far I’ve come. I’m glad that this song that was once something I sobbed to is now a song that gives me a sense of fulfilment and happiness.

I used to listen to these songs while heading home late evening from office on my bike, tired and wanting some peace i would ride bike to home through very bad traffic and would just be relaxed all the way till i reached home. well this guy i used to like sent me this exact video some years ago. it was one of the songs we both liked, and a band we would constantly talk about. he moved away and we started to talk less. the timezone, our schedules, and the distance really made it hard to stay in touch. sometimes i believe that if we tried a little bit more there would have been something. eventually i stopped thinking about him, reaching out to him, and waiting for him. i forgot the small things we talked about, and the small things we promised each other. i forgot how his voice sounded and i never got to know the new him. maybe its better that way. today, about 30 minutes ago this video autoplayed while i was in the shower. i thought nothing of it, because i often listened to cas. but when i got out, and sat in my room, something urged me to check my history on youtube. and lo and behold, theres this video. my heart didnt drop like it used to, it just made me feel happy. in some way or another he is still around, and we are still talking about this song. i dont know if you could tell but i really REALLY liked him. he never knew, and i think thats okay. some things are better left unsaid. sometimes i like to think that we're listening to cas at the same time, whether that be at night for him and the morning for me. hes a part of me as much as i am a part of him no matter how much i am willing to deny it. i cant say his name but i know if you saw this you would know who you are. i hope you think of me from time to time as well. be safe
