Cigre é um projeto musical que cativa - prontamente - a audiência através de um rock que consegue ser em simultâneo doce e explosivo sob uma áurea de misticismo poético.
Cigre nasceu em 2005, pela mão da musicista autodidata Cristina Cigre, que nos (longos) anos seguintes foi amadurecendo este seu trabalho musical de pop rock até o dar a conhecer ao grande público já na década de 20 do novo milénio.
Mais do que uma virtuosa cantautora, Cristina consegue vestir a pele (em termos performativos) de um anjo e de um diabo quando leva Cigre aos palcos, onde se faz acompanhar por Guilherme Carmelo (guitarra), Vítor Gouveia (bateria), Francisco Cordeiro (saxofone), Newton Santos (baixo), e Vasco Venade (teclados).
Tendo como berço a Mui Nobre Cidade do Porto, Cigre remete-nos para bandas/artistas icónica(o)s como Pixies, Massive Attack, ou Nick Cave, mas com uma identidade própria que faz deste projeto musical uma das grandes descobertas da música portuguesa desta década.

Cigre was born in 2005, by the hand of the self-taught musician Cristina Cigre, who in the (long) years that followed matured her pop rock musical work until it became known to the general public in the 20's of the new millennium.
More than a virtuous singer-songwriter, Cristina manages to assume the skin (in performance terms) of an angel and a devil when she takes Cigre to the stage, where she is accompanied by Guilherme Carmelo (guitar), Vítor Gouveia (drums), Francisco Cordeiro ( saxophone), Newton Santos (bass), and Vasco Venade (keyboards).
Having as it´s birthplace the very noble city of Porto, Cigre takes us to iconic bands/artists such as Pixies, Massive Attack, or Nick Cave, but with its own identity that makes this musical project one of the great discoveries of portuguese music of this decade.
