FYI - THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH REGULAR RICE. It’s just as healthy as anything else. If for some reason you need to eat low carb, then do what you gotta do. But stop perpetuating this idea that rice is not healthy. It’s just a grain, and in moderation is not more or less “healthy” than anything else. I’d you like cauliflower rice eat it, but you can eat regular rice and be healthy too!! Rice is not unhealthy!!!!!
@@SRHisntSilent I know she didn’t say anything about rice being unhealthy, I have critical listening skills :) I was just reminding people since this is a common misconception. There are certain people who need eat to low carb for sure! But just a reminder for the general population that white rice is not actually that unhealthy, we need to stop perpetuating that idea. it feeds into diet culture (pun not intended haha) and can make for unhealthy infests around food to tho k of some foods as “good” or “bad”. I was just inferring that some people might see this and think automatically “I need to replace rice bc it is bad” which is not always the case for everyone. If you like cauliflower rice eat it! If you don’t, don’t force yourself to eat what you don’t like bc there really is not much wrong with white rice in moderation. that’s it ;)
@@wrinkleintime4257 i appreciate you for this comment! i eat rice bc it’s what i enjoy, and sometimes i feel “should i switch it out for a low carb?” even tho i eat it w veg, avo, and chicken. this comment does help ppl like me, so thanks (:
No she said "cauliflower is a healthy choice" she is calling rice unhealthy if she did think rice was healthy she would've mentioned it DO YOU REALLY NEED PEOPLE TO POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS FOR YOU???
@@wings5211 it’s just a reminder for those people who tend to fall into obsessive behaviours around food (I’ve been one for those people). Cauliflower rice is not always the healthiest choice, especially for people who fall into patterns/cycles of obsessive dieting and bingeing bc they deny themselves foods they like or need by buying into thinking some foods are “good” and some are “bad”. Yeah, It’s A choice. Cauliflower is good but it’s not rice. It might be obvious to you, but to some people seeing a healthy fit white girl tell them cauliflower rice is better for you, just perpetuates diet culture and an unhealthy mindset around food. It also makes people who culturally eat foods like white rice (which is a lot of cultures!! I myself am Cuban and white rice is a huge part of Cuban cuisine), it makes cultural foods seem like they’re bad when in reality they’re often healthier than North American food of any kind! A bowl of rice and beans is more balanced than even many health foods that make people will eat, be unsatisfied with and then binge on actual unhealthy food. Just … eat what is filling and nourishing to begin with lol This comment was for those people, who need a reminder that their worth as people is not tied to what carb or vegetable they choose to eat. And that life is bigger than obsessing over rice being a bad thing or not. RICE IS HEALTHY, because it also offers some of the nutrients that your body needs. All food has some value to our bodies, as long as it’s eaten in moderation and balanced with other foods. White rice and a legume is like the most common meal combination IN THE WORLD and in so many cultures, because it’s balanced and cheap and filling and yes, it’s healthy. My comment wasn’t meant for you :) but thanks for sharing your thoughts anyway!
I'm glad you mentioned the tidbit about using cauliflower as an alternative! I've heard a lot of videos just mention how using an "x" alternative for whatever is just "so good you won't even know it's x" when in reality, that's not always the case!
This looks great! But I hope you realize rice isn’t unhealthy for you… unless you obvi have a condition or allergy which makes it not work with your body. Some of the healthiest countries incorporate rice into their diet almost every day 😊
I know some might say that’s a lot of garlic but trust me, it does take extra flavouring to flavour cauliflower.. also this recipe is bloody gorgeous, tried and tested🤤😋💯xx
The glow up regarding both content and just vibes of every single person after leaving buzzfeed is halarious! You look great and youre making great recipes!! No more dome lasagna lol!
I love cauliflower and chicken together. The other day I had some left over coconut fat in pan I had been frying beef patties and onion rings with the day before and I used it to make some quick flat bread (roti). Just put a little water in the pan and let it fuse with the oil and the fond and pour it into your dry ingredients. It tasted like meat pie... well, the pastry part of the meat pie.
Tip for people who like cauliflower rice but not necessary the flavor: put all the rice-sized cauliflower in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out all the liquid. Makes it easier to cook and takes out the extra funk than cauliflower haters talk about
Hey! It still won’t be rice, but after mixing all the seasonings and lime into your cauli rice, spread it thin on a greased cookie sheet and broil on low until it’s dried out. It tastes MUCH better and it’s far closer to rice than with all that moisture inside of it.
PSA: stop using the word “hella”. A lot of you are using it wrong and it is a term that pertains to a dialect that isn’t yours (unless you’re african american). Just like any other language AAVE has grammatical rules and a lot of you are ignoring them and just using words that you think are trendy
I'm not American and idk if this is disrespectful (I'll remove the comment if it is, please tell me) but TWENTY DOLLARS T W E N T Y D O L L H A I R S FOR O N E RICE AND BEAN BOWL?! that's roughly 1500 in my currency and I would eat G O O D with that kinda money for MULTIPLE DAYS (all meals included!) I just cant comprehend paying 20 dollars for a meal for one person at a non luxury occasion Wow. Which if you do pay that and enjoy it and are able to pay it then wow good for you, I'm not shaming in anyway but it's just so Wow To me, yanno?
