Championed by her friends the Beatles, Black began her career as a singer in 1963. Her singles "Anyone Who Had a Heart" and "You're My World" both reached number one in the UK in 1964

I absolutely love the story that Paul Ogrady told at her funeral. They were out drinking together in Spain and when they returned to her holiday home, they discovered they were locked out so Cilla tried to climb through a window and got stuck with her legs in the air, at this point a couple walked past who clearly recognised them and Cilla just said "Surprise, Surprise!" 😂 That girl knew how to have fun!

My mum is buried in this cemetery not far from where Cilla has been laid to rest. It has a lovely layout and I appreciate how simplistic her grave is. Not over the top, just simple and respectful. I saw Cilla Black in the 80s. At Twin Towns in Australia where she was performing her shows. Cilla was amazing. She was so funny and a great entertainer. I remember when she sang John Lennon's song IMAGINE, there wasn't a dry eye in the place. R. I. P. Cilla, and Thank You for all the great moments.

I’m so pleased you have been to see Cilla Black’s grave. Sir Ken Dodd’s grave isn’t far from Cilla and also Julia Lennon’s grave is close by too, who is John Lennon’s Mum. She was tragically killed as she was crossing the road called Menlove Avenue after visiting Aunt Mimi’s house which is near to Allerton Cemetery. Also Rhys Jones aged 12 years is also buried here who was sadly murdered after he had played a game of football in 2007. Oliver King aged 12 years who died after a cardiac arrest whilst he was swimming and could have been saved if there had been a defibrillator available. His Dad Mark has campaigned ever since for defibrillators to be made more accessible. The two boys are buried near my ancestors in Allerton. It’s great that you have made the journey to Merseyside Paul 👍🏼

I’ve been to her grave not long after she passed away because I am such a massive fan of hers. When I visited her grave, obviously before the headstone was put down, I saw all the flowers that People had put down and all the words that People had put and I saw the flowers that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr had sent to her family. I assume you must know this, but the words on her grave are from one of her songs, you’re my world.

There is a beautiful long poem written by Thomas Gray called "Elegy written in a Country Churchyard" or simply "Gray's Elegy" that expresses your feelings, when walking through a graveyard, exactly.

I love listening to Cilla's Music. My favourite song is Anyone who had a Heart. she had a Lovely voice. I Liked the blind date Cilla did for comic relief with Rowan Atkinson I was 9 when I first saw it. I've watched it twice since then and I still Listen to her Lovely songs. R.I.P Cilla🌹

I loved Cilla when i was a teenager. I used to love her dresses and the way she did her hair, i tried to copy her style without success. I dont think we get entertainers like her anymore.Thank you Paul.Thank you Cilla for the music and the laughs.

What an absolutely beautiful headstone & resting place for the lovely Cilla. When you read out the inscribed words, it brought me to tears, absolutely beautiful. ❤️
