I appreciate the Gem you stated. When you are forced to slow down, you aren't running as slow as your mind thinks. Your mind makes you think your race is shot and you are almost walking. But you look back and only slowed a bit. JUST KEEP RUNNING if you can. I have had this happen multiple times.

Thanks so much for all the race details. I’ve always appreciated that you share things such as your food plan, what race morning was like, and even how many times you went no.2 cause it helps us understand others also go through the same on long runs/race day. Really awesome videos. Thanks.

I was on pace for a PR at CIM this year, but injured my foot at mile 8. At times I wanted to give up and DNF but I pushed myself to the finish line. Sometimes the result you get isn’t the one you want but it’s just as impactful. It taught me that I’m tougher than I thought I was and I’m proud I finished regardless of the pain I was enduring. I’m glad you’re proud of your effort. It’s so easy to give up but you chose the hard road and that’s what matters.

Love the CIM breakdown and already looking forward to the Boston marathon series! I have the coros pace 2, I've had it for about a year now and really like the data it provides. The heartrate tracking is great, you can see exactly where your threshold is and know what you can sustain for any given distance.

Love the video! I took the course one mile at a time. I also knew that everyone’s GPS would trigger before each mile marker so I ignored the watch on distance and just kept looking at time per lap and pace per lap. Anyways CIM is a perfect prep for Boston as you will face similar rollers. Good luck and congratulations! Love your videos, I never put this much effort into mine and I wish I did.

Nice job Eric! I’ll be in Boston in the spring too. Still not sure what my time goal will be either - I had some big life changes in the fall which meant a lot less volume and at this rate will be happy with 55mpw for my spring training block. I also moved to about 8500 ft of elevation which is also a big unknown. Hope to see you there in the spring and congrats again on CIM.

It’s funny how all of you influencers talk about running for yourselves and your goals, as you all should, obviously, but the actual influence and inspiration you provide all of us “normal folk” can’t be realized. You literally make thousands of people think “man, if he can do better, I can do better.” You’re literally changing people’s lives with what you guys do. I know you’ve changed mine, and for that, I thank you.

Excellent breakdown. I love these types of vids to get an idea on courses, race logistics and such. I'm running Houston Marathon Jan 14th to qualify for Boston 2024 under the BAAs newly expanded Athletes With Disabilities program. I'll be running them as a member of the Achilles International Freedom Team which is made up of disabled veterans. If all goes well, I'll also be doing Chicago, Marine Corps and NYC with them. Also a few other during the in between races. I ran a couple portions of the Boston course last week. I grew up about 10 miles from the stahtline. Until you run the first section (8 miles mostly downhill) or drive it backwards from Wellesley to Hopkington, you don't realize how much downhill there is and how drastic it is in a few spots. Staht training for the long downhills!!! Runner Beware!!!

Great run out there. Awesome time. I ran CIM as well this year. I was running by you and Nick majority of the race. There is actually a pic of you and I on the course taken from the race photographers. I ran a 2:41:42. I PR’d on that course. I was given some intel on the hills in the beginning of the course a few months before the race. Training up and down hills really helped my preparation. Great job out there and good luck with the training for Boston. Not sure if you have run Boston, but the first 15.5 miles are really easy, 16-22 are the Newton Hills.

Dunno if I'll do a full dedicated video, just because I don't feel super gifted or talented at breaking down the specs or really grasping all of what the tech can do. I just love using it how I see fit, and communicating how it's helping along the way. Not ruling it out though!
