Umgebungspunkte: Gardasee, Monte Baldo, Brenzone, Malcesine, Garda, Punta Telegrafo 2200 m, Rifugio Telegrafo, Monte Cadria 2254 m, Cima Valdritta 2218 m, Monte Bondone 2180 m, Dosso della Torta 2156 m, Monte Altissimo di Nago 2079 m, Monte Stivo 2059 m, Rifugio Novezzina, Chalet Novezza.
----------
A demanding ridge hike in the rocky region of Monte Baldo. The Monte Baldo ridge not only dominates the alpine events at Lake Garda in the Trentino-South Tyrol region because of its length of 30 kilometres, but the height of the numerous, albeit less pronounced individual peaks is also impressive. At 2,218 metres, Cima di Valdritta, with its rocky peak, is the absolute peak; however, it is not the highest peak in the Garda mountains, this attribute belongs to Cima Cadria in the west of the mountains.
Unfortunately, I did not quite make it to the summit. A thunderstorm predicted for the evening already came up in the early afternoon and there are too many passages on the way from Cima delle Pozette to Cima Valdritta. When it rains, the rocks and steep passages are too slippery and dangerous, one does not have to take this risk. Furthermore, I was also afraid of lightning strikes, as it was a pure ridge and summit hike and there were no protection possibilities. With a heavy heart I broke off the tour shortly before my destination, the summit cross was within reach. But it was the right decision, because the last kilometers before the starting point the thunderstorm already pulled over the Monte Baldo, I was fortunately already over the most difficult passages away and nearly back that of the Beregstation of the cable car, when the thunderstorm moved violently over the Gardaseeberge. Now I have this goal in mind again during my next visit to Garda.... and I will make it :))))
