That was interesting. Great voices. In this one I wished I understood the lyrics because it felt that there was a story in there we were meant to hear. Possibly a bit dark. But I didn't miss the video because it left me free to imagine what they looked like so I had a head full of black cloaks and hoods and I was quite happy with that. In a way it reminded me of a band I listened to in the 90s called Trans-Global Underground. They sounded nothing alike but there was a vibe. It sometimes happens that way. I enjoyed the minimalism and the choice of sounds. When the electric piano came in it took me back to my childhood. I usually had to depend on the radio to provide music and I was always listening out for something different and although I love the piano now it bored me then and I always wanted a substitute. So I'd get excited about organ, marimba or steel drums taking those parts and percussion instead of drums. Back then (the late 50s) it didn't happen often. Bongos were exotic and only popped up in jazz. So when electric piano started to make an appearance I felt fulfilled. Popular music was starting to catch up with my expectations. I enjoyed this and I wish I had a little context for it. I really felt they had something to say. Keep 'em coming. I'm being nudged out of my rut.

Can’t say that I enjoyed this one, it seemed very dark. Of course I had no idea what it was about so I could be wrong.

Love how they periodically perform a song acknowledging their rise but in a humble way. A more recent song, and an original, is Lucky Ones.

The outfit change was how they were dressed when they first started out. Now they are "Bigger than we've ever dreamed".

This has always been one of my favorite PTX videos. From the great beat, perfect harmony, and message at the end, it always makes me appreciate their vast levels of talent and humble beginnings. This was one of Mitch's first full lead songs, and that was also nice to hear. Thanks for the great reaction!

Pentatonix, just released a new video from their new album, 2 days ago. The song cover would be "The Prayer". I found it to be the best vocal that they have ever done!

I loved watching you groove to this. Like you, I also appreciate it when they come in one by one layer. I look forward to you reacting to "The Prayer" which they just dropped last week. Thanks for your reaction! I loved the recommended song that you posted too. I always loved the way Pentatonix personalized this song reflecting on their humble beginnings and how difficult it was starting their career. They still remain humble and appreciate the support of their fans even though they are superstars now. The change back into the modest clothes they wore for their "Sing Off" audition and earlier videos singing about making their dreams come true was a great way to end this song. I noticed a few people in the comments requested "Sing", one of their earlier original songs (I was going to request that one too). Pentatonix went online and invited their fans to the pier to participate in the making of "Sing".

You said you heard something. What was it? I went back a few times and listened and I the only thing I heard at that point was maybe someone bumped the mic while recording the vocals, or someone taking a breath. Don't keep us in suspense, man, what did you hear? I liked at the end when they changed wardrobe into their normal clothes. If only they knew, when they were so young, how big they would really be. Thank you as always for the great reaction and the recommendation. That one sounded a little dark, but also as if telling a story. Thanks again, Cina. 💚💚

Royals is such a catchy song! I see you’re getting a lot of requests for their newest release, The Prayer. To clarify, it’s not the collaboration of a few weeks ago with a young contestant on America’s Got Talent. It’s their own version from their new Evergreen album that everyone is flipping out about (including me). It has surpassed Hallelujah and Amazing Grace for me, hands down.

I love the really tight harmonies on this one. Like it better than the origional to be honest. I didn't see today's recommended song, though. Guess it was a short experiment?

I just subscribed! Loving the reactions so far. Another good RU-vidr you should watch is named Sam Robson. He does Acapella music completely on his own. He covers everything from Disney to Michael Jackson as well as writing his own music. He is very talented and not as recognized as he should be.

Thanks for your reaction. I really like this song. I've noticed something with Pentatonix' pop covers and originals -- they don't give Avi (or Matt) a chance to do very much. My favorite version of _Royals_ is a parody by Weird Al called _Foil._ I cannot remember if you have reacted to any of Weird Al's stuff, but this would be a great place to start.
