This is West Brook Pond in the Great River and Oakdale area. State Parks officials say a dam on the pond broke June 11, 2019 and flooded nearby Montauk Highway. The result was a muddy mess and led to the draining and killing of this pond. "Our intent is to make the necessary repairs, and then the pond will again be back," says George Gorman, of New York State Parks. To this date I have seen nothing done to fix it. What I've seen is the destruction of the ecosystem and now less ospreys fly there, which are protected birds on Long Island. I pray that they will fix this eyesore soon. I call the video cinders...
