For this album review, I finally delve into the dizzyingly huge and genre-blurring hypnagogic pop magnum opus from Cindy Lee, one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2024...
Best Songs: 'Flesh and Blood’, ‘Kingdom Come’, ‘GAYBLEVISION’, ‘Diamond Jubilee’, ‘Til Polarity’s End’, ‘Stone Faces’, ‘If You Hear Me Crying’, ‘24/7 Heaven’
Worst Song: ‘Wild Rose’, ‘I Have My Doubts’

IDK I love it. Ignorance is bliss. I guess. Oddly, my first thoughts upon hearing it was that it sounded like some obscure forgotten artist from 1966 that I dug out of a dusty record bin at a thrift store. Cheers

Your review may be the closest to my thoughts as everyone else so far, albeit not as eloquently thought out on my end. There are some standout tracks, but on the whole I'm not fully clicking with what makes this album revered by so many. It's interesting how much additional effort it might take someone to really want to listen to this album by downloading the .wav files from a Geocities page, and then manually include the ID3 tags for each track. For a generation of people who only know streaming, it might seem not worth the task (or one might even use slsk to download the fully-tagged files). I'm the weirdo who still stores his music offline, rips CDs, and will occasionally fix a track's tags. This type of rollout might be part of the whole Diamond Jubilee experience for some people. As for me, it'll likely make my Honorable Mentions list for the year, but I'm not fully getting the hype for this album.

I agree is a good album but after 2 hs there's a lot of fillers, if it was shorter it will be better.

I'll review this album if a song from this charts on the Hot 100!
