HI, I want to congratulate you for the level and clarity of these rare quality tutorials. I carefully select the channels to follow and you will be one of them.
I just want you to know, I used your tutorial to do a project for my job. I want to thank you, for making this. I truly appreciate the guidance from one artist to another.
This is so incredibly helpful, you have no idea. Opened my mind to new possibilities, thank you so so much. You broke it down beautifully, thank you for sharing this valuable information with the community!!
Absolutely brilliant ! Genius and simple logic, thank you so much for sharing it, it gives me some inspiration for some projects ( if only i had more time to make them .. )
28:42 one small tip here: You can write "+20" into the textfield behind the current value and hit return, so that #C4D does the calculation for you ;-) You can also do other math operations. Thanks gain for sharing your workflow :D
You can also write "x+20" which just adds 20 to the original value. The advantage is that this also works when you have more than 1 value (object selected) :)
Had a quick look through and this is pure genius. But wait, assets can be affected by wind even though their used with octane scatter? This surprises me a loooot. Is the wind object the only element that makes the assets tangle when they grow? cheers for sharing this with the community man.
Brilliant!! Thank you for sharing these concepts. I'm really interested in your animation wind examples using the random effector. Could you share were the parameters are adjusted, or maybe some more detail on how you executed? Cheers!
Thanks a lot for this awesome tutorial man, this is just crazy ! I would appreciate a lot if you could develop a bit on the windy effect you get cuz i tried some random rotation but it didnt seem to work as good as you so maybe i'm missing smth.. Anyway thx again and please keep going with new tuts :p
I hope I can explain it a bit more, but I think the trick is: just have small rotation values in your random effector and use a animated noise in it. And play a bit with these noise settings in the effector, I think they are called noise size and speed or something like that.
Will you be sharing any of these scene files on Patreon? I feel like I'm close but a few settings short of nailing the full effect for this. Would love to have a poke around inside your projects :-)
How did you add that smooth wind effect? Also, I tried it with Forester and the render time were nuts. What render settings do you suggest for such animation? Great tut! Thanks!
Hi, i went a little quick on that. I just used a random effector with some animation in the rotation values. You can use a slightly different random effector on every octane scatter to get more variation.
thanks man! tried it out, but i got a small issue with the shader effector. When i load in my png seq from ae to c4d and calculate, it gets my framecount right, but i don't see it affecting my scattering. Are you exporting movs or sequences? Alpha or color?@@3DBONFIRE
Hi hru?nice job! i have a question, i dont know what happend with my animation Created with scatter and shaded, I work in the interface I see it in the interface, at the render of the window of Octane also works, but when I render to export the animation does not works i see my other animation but the animation with scatter not, does anyone know why this happens?
I have done eveything but I can't create a timeline of animations. I can't see my plants move with the Turbulence Noise and neither the movement of my Bitmap Shader. I have done everything from the tutorial but I think I didn't set up the possibility of seeing the objects move since the beginning of the project. I'm new.
hiii. i have been trying to get the image sequence to work in c4d but it doesnt seem to calculate all the images. is there a specific way i have to render the sequence in after effects? like for example i tried rendering as tiff , png, and mov files but none of them want to play the animation. which format works??
Thanks for explain in detail this helpful techniques! I was wondering if you can make a selection on the plane to grow these plants instead of growing to the whole plane. Do I have to make it with the masks in AE or i can make it in C4D directly? And instead of using AE for the masks, can I use animated vertex maps? Thank you again!
sure you could make a selection, if you don`t want to grow everywere. You can do it in your mask by making a black or white area but you can also do it in 3D. Most of the time in C4D I just duplicate my landscape, make a poly selection on the area I want to grow onto, and delete the other polygons. then just set your octane scatter to the new landscape.
Hey, did you get this to work with an animated vertex map and Octane Scatter? I've been trying, but any way I approach it from, it doesnt seem to want to work. It makes the scatter go extremely slow and sometimes freeze. Even when using a baked alembic file with the vertex map inside. Any thoughts would be appreciated as there is a lot more cool reveal techniques that can be created using fields and vertex maps that I would love to try out with this technique!
@@michaelcrozier2214 Hey, i had the same problem with vertex map and scatter, it doesn't seem to work ok. Don't know why, but i'll keep trying with that because what if you want to grow stuff with different objects instead of a simple plane? Vertex maps can be handy
Sorry, now I got you. Its just a random effector with some animated noise in rotation values. Set your Noise to turbulence will give you natural results.
@@3DBONFIRE I'm stuck in here. After I set the rotation values, what should I do? I'm a beginner (this is actually my first tutorial of Cinema 4D, I'm about to finish and I am really proud. But I don't know how to set the speed of the random effector)
Hey great tutorial! But how do I apply the shader I use for the animation and the shader used for the areas where I grow the plants? The animation shader overwrites the my other shaders.. A quick fix would be great!
