Hello Friends,
I had a fun weekend with my son and my nieces, my son and I went to the Cinema to watch Despicable me 4, came home where my brother and two nieces were waiting and spent the afternoon with them. We played games and they painted my nails. I also made some bacon and cheese puffs for dinner.
It was a fun day so com along with us and spend the day with what we got up too.

Thank you so much, I know he will be ok the first time of anything new can cause a lot of anxiety. I am having a video call with him during the week at some point which is great. Really appreciate your support xx

Hi Rachel, you'll be fine,I've been there and it is upsetting but think of how excited he's going to be when he comes home full of stories to tell you. My advice, keep busy,take care xxx

Thank you, I spoke to him on a video call yesterday he was so happy and excited. He is looking forward to seeing me but also having a great time. I'm doing exactly what you said and keeping busy xx

Aww bless you i felt every strain of anxiety there! I would be exactly the same. Oscars dad wants to take him to butlins for the day and that worries me so i can imagine how you feel with your boy going abroad. I hope you find some calm and space to do some things that you want to do alone while hes away making memories. Oh i would say car is gold, bike is silver motorbike is bronze. Those pastry things looked lush! X

Thank you, the first time with anything new always causes a lot of anxiety but it will get a little easier each time but the worry will always be there. Making memories with his Dad is important, I hope you will find some time for you if Oscar goes out for the day with his Dad. haha good Gold, silver and bronze choices. My son loved those pastry things he ate the entire thing. xx

Hey Rachel your anxiety is totally understandable. My sis is 47lost hubby 3 years ago when her youngest was 6months she has another 3 ages range from 13 to 4 and she is just home yesterday from 1 week all inclusive in salou . With 2 boys and 2 girls to keep her eyes on at the pool and parks she was definately in need of eyes in the back of her head and guess what ? she brought them home all in one piece after a week of fun . Granted by other sis went too she is 44 . So in reality your sons dad is going to have only 1 child to care for whilst on holiday and your little boy is probably a lot less wild than my sisters kids lol. So try your best to put a positive spin on it he is going to be having fun with many new experiences and making life long .wmories with his father and u will have some time to pander to your own needs and getting stuff sorted for his return . I know its easy for me to say but i too am currently dealing with my 18 year old making plans to do a gap year in new zealand which is across the other side of the world . I am here for you as always if you need to off load although i am not practising professionally at the moment i like to keep my fingers in the pot advising family and friends stops the old brain cells dying and the brain fog at bay px

This is such a lovely message thank you so much. I feel better just reading it. My son is going with other family members too and I know deep down he will have fun and make those memories that you said which is important that he has lasting memories with the both of us. That must be a lot to digest with your 18 year old taking a year out across the other side of the world but the stories he will be able to share with you when he returns will be amazing. @@Solomumtoone i am so glad u had a bit of comfort from my message i have 3 teenage girls and they say they favour their dads where boys tend to favour their mums. True or not i think they deserve to have both parents in their lives were possible but i will admit co parenting teenagers is much more difficult than when they were younger they now have innate ability to play one off against the other so they get their win win outcome its exhausting trying to keep one step ahead especially with the brain fog that comes with being 50 lol px
