Am from USA, and I tell you, we have theaters that are coming down by themselves. Even in small time America, there are little theaters, because that is all people had. It was their entertainment. Now the only entertainment we see if violence, how to kill someone, and every thing else that is immoral and disgusting. Thank you for showing a bit of nostalgia in these two places.
Really enjoyed that Mr Sean. I was born in 1949 and whilst viewing your video, all the lovely memories of growing up in the 50's and 60's came flooding back. Prefer those days to these.
Thanks Neil - What a lovely video - very interesting. Could you cover the original Heathrow - the area was primarily farmland & orchards - saw some photographs of flights arriving when only the mega-mega rich & august personages & real Hollywood stars ever flew! LOL
My children grew up in cleckheaton. What an interesting history lesson about the picture house ( cinema is American) pictures or fleapit was the common term
Our corner of yorkshire we had lots of picture houses sadly all gone happy times with your friends trying to catch the eye of a group of boys 🎉specially around dewsbury all in good friendly fun ❤
This made me a tiny bit homesick, I left Cleck in 1966 never to return but it brought back memories I had long forgotten, my mother used to take me to the palace virtually every week until it burned down, it was a rare day that we went to the savoy. Btw, why don't you do one about Dewsbury and Heckmondwike or even the now defunct news theatres.
