What is your favourite light to use on set?
@the_allens_
@the_allens_ 4 года назад
Mark Bone how do you feel about color changeable LED tube lights such as the Astera AX1s? I’ve seen a lot of people using them recently and they looks awesome, but wasn’t sure if there was enough control to use them for more narrative stuff.

My favourite light to use on set is the Falcon Eyes SO-48TD, it can be very soft! Great video keep rocking Mark. Cheers.

I love the ideas in this video. One thing that should be remembered is that day light changes so you gotta work quick. It is organic but you have to plan.
@SheldonCharron
@SheldonCharron 4 года назад
Truth. Clouds, birds, planes, choppers, sometimes you don't notice until you go to edit. ugh. Same with blinds to seal off windows. Unless you black them out, light changes (it gets through) and so does color cast from the blinds. Best to use window light for ambient or rim and use a light for face.
@WyattChristman
@WyattChristman 4 года назад
Yeah, you get the good light and you are on a roll but then you take too long or it suddenly changes but you aren't done...what's cool though is that even with that sometimes I have seen where you can still get away with the natural light with a small soft light to boost what's there, do a little camera adjust and extend your available time.

Love the video! However, I think it’s important to remember that all of the lighting setups are relative, and there is no “right way” to light someone. I’ve done corporate work where they want the high-key, talking head look. It’s important to remember to let the context of the video define your lighting method. Cheers! Great video! Your work looks awesome.
