I only knew that he did The Matrix, and now I learn that he's worked with some of my favourite directors on some of my favourite movies. I love learning that I'm a fan of somebody without ever actually realising!

Love the cinematographer series! I'm wondering if Dean Cundey would ever do an interview with this channel. His cinematography with John Carpenter is legendary, and I'd love to hear how the heck he shot "Apollo 13".

12:01 In fact, the idea of the virtual world being green only appeared in the second Matrix movie. The green tonality of the first movie was added to the 2008 DVD, in the theatrical release it wasn't like that

Yeah, the grading is different with every home release. The 2018 4k release has a much more natural look, with not much of a green tint.

@@NuCLeaRSHoT1 Well it's rather teal tint than green.

Insightful content about Bill Pope. Great to hear his philosophy about his own cinematography & your coverage about it. Music videos in the 1980's & 1990's were a springboard for crews & it was an unofficial film school as well. Unlike today, where the music video production is easily accessible, back then, it took on a trained professional ambition & that professionalism transferred when these crews earned their opportunities with features.

Absolutely love Bill Pope and his mastery of light, however the Bullet Time Sequence rig was created by John Gaeta. It’s well documented in the BTS of The Matrix.

That Bullet-time still camera rig on The Matrix was amazing. Still impressed whenever I see that old behind the scenes footage.

Can you do one on Rodrigo Prieto? How about more latin cinematographers?

It would be very nice if the description could include the names of the movies from which clips were taken. Some I recognize - the Matrix, Scott Pilgrim, Baby Driver - and one I saw but can't remember the name of - the King Arthur story with a modern schoolboy - and some I did not recognize.

I have a suggestions: Andrey Zvyagintsev as Director and his DP - Mikhail Krichman. Also Andrey Tarkovsky. They do art house films

The cinematography of the MCU tend to look very uninspiring Since they have a big demand, they have to shoot each movie as quick as they can Which is why most of the movies look the same
