@@ZpectreWasTaken Yes, the volcano erupted, which covered the lion’s share of the island with volcanic rock.

The music in gen 2 was way too cheerful for it, thankfully hgss fixed this

​@@irembal6011​ It's the music to Viridian, Pewter and Saffron, as part of the reasons for the cut content of Kanto (including the point of this video about what happened to Cinnabar originally in gen 2) the soundtrack for a number of places couldn't fit into the game cartridge, you would notice Cerulean has this music too and routes 24 and 25 north of that city have what the majority of routes in that region from Routes 3, 4, 5, etc, but with the re-recorded Kanto music in gen 4 that gen 2 was missing when you unlock the GB Sounds option which is the gen 2 version of the soundtrack it actually includes what the missing music of that gen would've sounded like
