These cinnamon rolls are made with the same dough recipe as my dinner rolls that had over 6 million views! Soft, fluffy, and perfectly sweet, they’re the ultimate comfort food. Whether you’re making them for breakfast or dessert, these cinnamon rolls will quickly become a favorite in your kitchen.
For the Dough:
2 1/2 cups warm water
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, melted
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
7 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and yeast.
2. Add the melted butter, salt, sugar, egg, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a large oiled bowl, turning it once to coat the surface with oil.
5. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, approximately 40 minutes.
For the Filling:
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 cup melted butter
Instructions:
1. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface, ensuring it’s evenly spread without holes.
2. Pour the melted butter over the dough and spread it out evenly, making sure not to go over the edges, but close to them.
3. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
4. Roll up the dough, stretching and pulling as you go.
5. Cut into slices and place on a baking sheet.
6. Bake at 350°F for 22-28 minutes or until golden brown.
For the Frosting:
2 cup butter, softened
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-4 tablespoons milk
2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
1. Whisk the softened butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and milk together until smooth and creamy.
2. Place the frosting in a cake decorating bag and pipe it in a zigzag pattern over the top of the warm cinnamon rolls.
