Massive UPDATE: Cinnpie has released a statement on Twiiter, May 1st 2021. Read it here. twitter.com/Cinnpie/status/1388554534537076742 Hey! Some corrections, I'll add more if you find them, reply to this comment. D1: D1 did not admit to statutory, he had a very similar story to someone else, but his accuser was 18 and he never admitted to it. MAJOR UPDATE: After nearly a year, D1 has responded, and he's claiming innocence. Go watch his statement on his RU-vid channel. Nintendo: despite how it seems, nintendo did not support smash in the past because they didn't believe it was a competitive game, not because there was rampant abuse. It was only later in 2020 that Nintendo withdrew the slow support because of sex scandals. NJWarrior: someone in the comments HERE on this video claims to be HeroKiller, a controversial person in smash, and he claims NJwarrior was him on a burner account. Not sure if the comment is still down here, and there's no way to verify any of it. But it does make sense in context so... Take it with a grain of salt.
We`ll just never know D1's story and that`s unfortunate. It will be a case shrouded in mystery. At this point, I`m glad that Nintendo does not support the Smash community.
@@superkulty64 kind of the Free Melee movement and look what happened absolutely nothing it’s obvious Nintendo doesn’t want this to happen again and that’s why they rather have no competitive scene.
@@blacksuitspidey1832 that, I`ll admit it was pretty dumb from Nintendo and they`re basically building their own coffin at this point. It`s sad that anything competitive (whether Smash or speedrunning) goes against Nintendo and they just do their best at shutting everything down. It sucks.
@Joel Mora spot on! I even have a story related to that. About a decade ago when I was 6, me and my 1 year older brother were home alone with my cousin who was 11 at the time and was supposed to be watching us. At some point he asked me to come into the closet “real quick”, I thought he was about to sneak diss, or tell me a secret. I was asking him why he couldn’t just speak in my ear, at that point I was accustomed to fowl play, but not on the scale of what proceeded. He didn’t force me to do anything, but he pressured me into something that I learned was a sexual act only 3 years ago when I was 12. Back then I thought I would get in trouble If told my mom that I did the nasty thing for 20 bucks (which didn’t “earn”, nor was I going to get in the first place), when in reality, I thought I would end up not having another choice. I told my mom about what happened at some point when I was in 8th grade, and she showed me a compassionate and understanding side that I haven’t seen before then. I really don’t think I could ask for a better parent as someone with a dad and step-dad. At the end of the day we have to consider how busy parents can be with work and know what circumstances better parenting applies to.
@Ultimate Supreme Leader do you really think it's only the smash community? I'm not defending the smash community. But I'm saying open your eyes. Humans are gonna act the same no matter what a lot of the time. Smash just has people who spoke up.
@Ultimate Supreme Leader you should learn to not take everything literally. go search up the word "exaggeration" and report back to here. also you think reading is hard? lol, it's effortless for a lot of people
@Ultimate Supreme Leader it wasn't even me who said it. but you are going to have to learn sooner or later that people exaggerate all the time* in conversations, to make a point (and the point can still be completely valid, no matter how much they exaggerate). *people do not literally exaggerate "all the time"; I am just making my point. if i said "people exaggerate in conversations approximately once every minute or two", which is closer to the truth, it wouldn't have as much of an effect, and yet my point makes perfect sense and it fit into the sentence just fine.
@@VinceTheCreatorr I definitely feel like she has to be on an alt or something, it makes me mad that she just disappeared when in reality she should be locked up though
I've seen worse child abuse cases, what makes this case a bit different is that the alleged predator is female, most predators are male which should come to no one's surprise. I'm just glad almost no one was lenient towards Cinnpie because she is a women. I hate when people say boys abused by women are "lucky"
it’s absolutely insane how she just left the internet. as a dmv resident, i want something to come out of this. there’s no way she should be free walking around
She isn't free walking around, she has this reputation following her, believe it or not, this is the greatest punishment she could receive without anyone pressing charges against her.
People were furious about it. The reason why she ended up being forgotten about is because she vanished and left the internet. Now she's still not banned on twitch, unlike nairo. So there is that
@@fireheart4560 just goes to show you just how "furious" some people were at least. Im tired of the double standards by twitch and twitter. I think her twitter is still up too
@@TVEDJS14999 The fact that she hasn't responded since the allegations (Soon it will be a year since her last twitter activity) leads me to believe that there's none of that, and that she knows what she did

@@TheHeartThatRunsCold I don’t know about that. How many people actually are into smash bros like that? She could easily apply for a job and no one would know about this.
@@unknowingreaper6556 The thing you aren't considering is how long until someone does find out. And just like that, you're out of a job, same with land lords, future friends, etc... She can't escape it, and it's on the internet, so it's recorded forever. There is no worse hell than being a public figure then having this happen to your reputation. Regardless of lawful punishment, her life is forever ruined, because she'll never be afforded the freedom of a stable life. My point in saying this is that, if you want her to suffer for what she's done, she has, and will continue to suffer. Also, most jobs worth having do a quick background check on whoever they're considering employing.
The only thing I missed was the CinnPie's actual age. IDK where in the video it is stated besides the very end when they are discussing it. I went through half of this thinking she was 16-18 when it all went down. After researching some and seeing CinnPie was 24 that was a big yikes moment.
@Tuscan417 No, you are completely right. I keep thinking the kid was like14 because it showed him at and passed that age. I didn't know who these people are before watching this.
@@FEARFREAK42 Same here. I didn't know any of these people before this video. I haven't regularly played Smash since college in 2016. Funny thing is I'm still younger (23) than Cinnpie when she committed this bs and can't for the life of me understand what in her right mind made her and any of the others want to sexually abuse people. Minors at that! What I want to know is how did everyone literally get reported on the same day? That was like a purge.
I'm 29 and I'd never hit on people under the age of 24. CinnPie is a predator and probably too immature for older guys therefore praying on the young minds of boys with her body.
Cw: I was groomed online by a woman her age when I was around Snoopeh's age. You really don't realize what's happening until you have that hindsight. It's incredible just how much it really does fuck you up in the long run with your ability to make proper healthy relationships. I hope the kid finds justice
She came back, half-denying everything, trying desperately to make it all about her and the abuse she went through and even posted a "cease and decist" letter threatening to sue anyone who exposes her.
Just stumbled upon this video. It is unbelievably refreshing. Documentary style videos often feature a person who talks too much and spends too much time with the camera on themself instead of the content. I didn’t even notice that there was no commentary for a solid ten minutes because the editing, clip selection/captioning, and present were captivating. Really well done.
those smash commentators in the beginning are weird man, they were seing "oh yeah puppeh and cinnpie are a thing" like it was super normal, jesus christ
@@LDR.125 i thought abt that, just hearing those jokes now just exhale "this aged like milk" energy but not in the funny way like most things, but in the "jesus christ this is uncomfortable" way
@@gulermo that's the thing about dark humor of that variety. If it ever turns out true, then the jokes become fact, and fact of that variety, is more often depressing than funny.
Honestly I don't think they knew, going "haha lil kid is dating person they interact with" is a really common teasing joke, it's just incredibly unfortunate that it was unfortunately true
@@SneesToMeetYou really? The idea of a young male with a older female is most males fantasy. They knew. They made jokes and then tried to side step it seeing as they were on stream. They knew and if you think they were blissfully unaware you should open your eyes. People knew about this before it hit the public.
Imagine how awesome this would have turned out, only if cinnpie just did the big sister role. Pup would be a top player with amazing friends and family to back him up, people that always supported and protected him but nope, in this reality we got this fiasco instead :(
@@cm9241 Yeaaaaa his parents were also a bit iffy here. I mean, you would let your kid go to a tourney with an adult who you probably just met without your supervision?
Not necessarily adding this for the original comment but to what the rest are saying. I went to my first gaming convention when i was 13-14. But at the time, I was staying at a friend's house with 4 of my other friends, and he lived like 4 blocks away from where the convention was. If it wasn't for all of those factors together my parents would've probably never let me go to the convention, let alone fly to another city. So it is pretty crazy that the parents would let him do that.
Ugh, I still remember when this whole situation blew up and feeling shitty about it. Like, I'm a casual smash player for the most part and I wasn't super into the competitive scene, but I would often watch some highlights online for fun and enjoy some of the commentary (some of the commentators were awesome to listen to). So, to hear the flood of accusations and some of the accused admit to what they did was kind of a shock. I don't know where Cinnpie is right now, but I hope she eventually gets the punishment she deserves. Great vid btw. June 23rd EDIT: Cinnpie's response was... not very good.
I no longer want to associate myself with this atrocious community. I grew up playing Smash 64 and I was the one of the better casuals in my circle. I have Smash Ultimate but I wouldn't touch that game with a 10 foot pole especially after the latest DLC characters. Pyra and Myrtha are literally thirst traps.
I can't believe there are people who believe nairo is innocent, that is the epitome of ignoring what is actually proven to have happened in favor of the conclusion come to by public opinion
Honestly because she's an attractive nerd, it made people blind to the fact that she's highkey an adult pushing 30 but doing their damnedest to look, act, and talk like some "uwu onee chan" 17 year old e girl.
Great stuff man, this story needs way more exposure, the double standard when it comes to grooming of minors is sooo frustrating to see.....lock her up!
What's crazy is that how many of them did that stuff and just within that community alone. Makes you wonder about large corporations, other communities and areas if the percentage is higher with cases like this.
@@TheMixedPlateFrequency I mean we have seen it before, it makes sense from a predators perspective to go into gaming communities that are liked by kids or seem kid friendly at least, like minecraft, fortnite and whatever else is popular with kids these days. Im pretty sure the smash community is just one many communities that are plagued by predators, those people will hop onto anything, club penguin, winx club, smash, fornite, your local trading card game shop, you name it, you will probably have higher numbers of predators in those kind of communities, there is no doubt in my mind. This is just the tip of the iceberg :/
yo, just wanted to say thanks for all the likes, i just wrote this comment because this story really triggered me. she really broke that boy, look at those pictures, read his twit longer and tell me that this experience with cinnpie didnt change his life for the worse and with lasting consequences. there should be justice for boys like him, just as there is for girls...
She can't even use the excuse of "he looked older", not that that's even a legitimate excuse for anyone to prey on minors, but he literally looked his age as a kid.
Finally someone thinks the same as me. One thing that unfortunately can happen to anyone is to engage a (let's say) "casual" encounter with a minor WITHOUT you noticing since that person probably looks older (it was not your intention to be with a minor) , BUT ANOTHER story is when you go predating minors with FULL CONSCIOUSNESS of what you are doing, and this teen clearly even looked like a 8 year old, so yeah, she was a fuck/ing sick child predator. It's a crime no one is forcing the law with her.
13:50 'Controversy had always forced Nintendo to keep the scene at arms length.' Nintendo never wanted the scene to exist in the first place. They even actively try to sabotage it. The controversy around the Smash community surely didn't help but Nintendo had this attitude towards the whole scene since forever.
Least some sort of progress was being made when Ultimate was fresh but after these allegations and shit, ain't no way Nintendo is gonna touch the community now and I honestly don't blame them, especially considering they actively worked with some of those players who were part of the allegations. Nintendo was never totally on board with Competitive Smash true but it's insane how the community wants support yet actively doesn't take the steps to warrant it and even if they do, they never go anywhere with it.
Yeah you can certainly forget about wanting Nintendo to support the competitive in any extent after all this, they now have an actual reason to not want a comp scene with Smash and I completely understand them for that. It's such a shame too.
Same, I was looking at WaDi thinking about how happy he was at that moment and then I looked at Cinnpie and it all came back in an instant. Depressing.

@@dnegel9546 not even close to half lol. There was a lot way more than it should have been. But every single player and figure in the smash scene got permanently banned and reported to the police. The scene is a lot safer now for minors EVEN if we don't shower Lmao

16:07 The reason Cinnpie responded to the rumors was from a Twitter user called HeroKiller and he was a fucking legend. He made a couple more accusations against more members. He was 100% right about Cinnpie and I believe he made another accusation towards GimR which was proven to be untrue but the amount of information this guy knew was insane. And during a lot of his Twitter arguments, he would send people videos of him fucking a different girl. An absolute legend.
@@mj6312 I think he had a dispute with an ex but it was still kinda crazy he knew something had happened between Gimr in the first place. Gimr is innocent.
bleh. makes me ashamed of ever playing smash. thankfully I'm casual I'd never, *_never_* , want to be associated with the likes of ZeRo and this horrible young woman.
13:51 saying this in this context makes it sound like there were other legal problems involved, there wasn't. The reason that Nintendo doesn't like competitive smash is for the simple reason that its competitive. They don't like games that are hard. They made brawl, they wanted everyone to play it and when people didn't because they wanted to play melee instead they got mad and tried to cancel us. Basically, Nintendo wants to be the "Family friendly fun-for-all Mario" people, instead of heading towards serious E-sports, like the Smash Bros. series.
I just don't understand why out of all these grown ass men in this community, she goes after the 8th grader. You really don't want to know much about this community. A lot of things happened within the last year and all these things came out and lit the community on fire. The community needs some desperate changes if we ever want it to go back to what we thought it was.
Armand Harris you are correct but ppl won’t give this likes because they’re too into the idea of love curing everything in America as opposed to thinking things through
Damn. I blame the parents. When I was a kid (16) I never understood why my mom wouldn’t let me go across the states to play with a punk rock group I was in at the time. Now I know why she didn’t let me go.
We should all listen to our parents when they won't let us go out with people. They know that this type of shit goes down and they really care about you.
No forreal....A TON of incidents could have been avoided if A. The parents were on site if a minor was attending a tourney. B. Strictly said no, you can go across the country to play in a tourney unsupervised
Being 16 and 12 are not the same lol. At 16 you are nearly an adult and in most countries you can legally drink. By 16 you should be capable of making choices and more cemented in who you are. A 12 year old is still looking to others to form an identity.
Let the record show that even though someone looks pretty and beautiful, they could really be a wolf in sheep's clothing. It really makes me think of how in the dark at night when you leave a few clothes on the floor and it's almost like your mind makes it look like a monster. Except in this situation the monster was real and it attacked a 14 year old child. I can't imagine how painful this was for puppeh and WaDi.
Im laughing of how she just vanished from twitter after putting the whole smash competitve scene on fire she said nothing, she just.. disappeared and for real I didnt even know twittlonger existed before this, my TL was full of this
She had a speak out (speak out against sexual harrasment) tag in her handle days before the bomb dropped....she changed it to do your bestthe day after
A lot more people in the Virginia scene knew about this than they are leading you all to believe. About 2016/2017, a friend of mine who is in the TEKKEN community, I repeat in the TEKKEN community told our friend group about this in a discord call. He & a few others talked about it at Final Round as well when we asked about it. They all confirmed. There were at least 2 other tweets from around that time besides the one shown in this video that was made. I guess they couldn't be found.. But. I for sure remember seeing them. Maybe someone in the Virginia scene can confirm or whatever. lol
Watching the proposal that Wadi made to Cinnpie makes harder when I look back at it. I really feel bad for Wadi proposing to a child predator. I guess he dodged a bullet.
This doc was really really good. Great timing and compelling music. Honestly subbed just over the quality. Not even into the scene, just the way you did it had me glued to the screen. Please keep it up.
Dude love the narrative focused videos without the fluff opinion commentary that all these other channels use. Its like watching a well made documentary.
We really need to raise men like how we raise women in terms of ,"looking for a partner", so they'd protect themselves from any sexual harassment instead of accepting it like its a gift. Men should be more wary of who they're dating and such, im quite surprised she even got to fuck around even if everyone knew about her reputation.
Sorry to be blunt but, whenever a girl and boy spend a lot of time together every day for months, hanging out at parties, going to tournaments together, etc... that will lead to a romantic attraction. You can't reasonably raise someone to not develop an attraction to someone they are hanging out with all the time. Also, teenage boys are almost always going to accept sexual advances from a pretty girl regardless of how you raise them. You also said, _"I'm quite surprised she even got to fuck around even if everyone knew about her reputation"._ Again, the majority of men do not care about a girl's reputation if the girl is pretty. Unfortunately that is just biology.
Wow this is so sad and twisted. I been talking to my kids all week about grooming and twisted adults. If she touched my son ewww man nowhere would be safe for her. People are really sick yo
To hell with her coming back, we pretty much lost the smash community that year. Needing a whole console for one game was one thing, but losing that many top players and commentators was crippling. I still haven't and don't plan on buying a switch

Those commentaries really aged poorly lmao. I wish someone spoke up. I think that’s what happened, people saw it, thought it was strange, but didn’t have the courage to speak up about it. It’s a damn shame too.
@@robburitto4193 yeah i can see where they were joking (at least one of them, the other guy was still pushing the idea of them being a couple multiple times), but they were very casual about a 24 year old following around and having some kind of a pseudo-relationship with a 14 year old. I would classify them (the commentators) as bystanders in this issue. Labeling what they were saying as an edgy joke does not excuse them. Edgy jokes have their place, but I believe them to have their place way after everything is said and done. During the process, they (edgy jokes) only serve to mellow and deescalate a major issue in some people's minds. So yeah, I believe they did do something wrong.

Trust me, this is in just about every competitive field, smash simply happens to have the most "exposed" cases. The saddest thing about it are the people destroyed in the aftermath.
You cannot convince me that other people in that circle weren't complicit in this. Like when that NJWarrior person sent that tweet, Troy's brother basically put two fingers in his ears ("untag me") while the other dude claimed that he knew who that accuser was - as if this wasn't the first time people called Cinnpie out.
