Sir, Circularity and cylindercity is both the indipendent feature. Where you explain the cylindercity vs runout video, you said the 3D dimensional tolerance that controls the over all cylindrical feature. But here you said in Circularity vs runout video The 2 Dimensional tolerance that control the over all form of circle.. Which one is correct 2D or 3D?
Left side picture - part not fixed just placed on the table centerly and rotate and scan the ID, you will get the circular profile. Right side picture - part fixed with jaws, so if you measure the ID profile runout. The variation is with respect to the fixed OD. Hope you understand
Most probably circular run-out will not meet the same spec, If circularity not our spec. Since the round profile already deviated, again if we check the round profile with respect to datum, sure it will not meet.
No, runout must hold datum. the actual waviness on the dia is based on datum center. if you are not hold the datum the dia waviness will be ploted as circle profile. So will get only profile variation from exact true circle.
