@@tiggercampbell6198I hope you at least reduce your alcohol consumption to where your liver can at least tolerate and heal the damage. You are very blessed to recover from what happened to you where many others in your situation haven’t. I get it though. People have vices and it can be very hard to stop it even if it negatively effects health. I’m a smoker and have reduced it by a lot but have never stopped completely. I wish you the best and hope you maximize the opportunity given to you.
My prayers are with all those suffering from any liver disease... hepatitis B, C, fatty liver ,liver cirrhosis, liver cancer e.t.c....There is hope for you and JESUS is our hope....Don't give up on yourself because he won't give up on you.....I discovered I had hepatitis B in 4th year of my medical school after I went for medical check up conducted by university, I was really down when I discovered this but the word of God picked me up and knew that I was a child of God and knew that it is the will of God to heal me,I held on to his word,it became my food everyday and today i'm healed me....It is my prayer for you reading that you get healed.
the body is still not fully understood. plus alcohol is poison. nobody needs alcohol. some race of people are prone to liver problems. stay strong. miracles happen everyday.
I’m sorry to hear about your friend.❤️ it’s such a young age to go. My mom was 54. I know it’s hard to deal with. I still have my moments to this day but we have to take it day by day. It never gets easier. We just learn to deal with it. Sending you hugs and lots of love❤️
I was diagnosed November 2021. Its taken a toll. I don't have good treatment or doctors in Arizona. Thank you for being open to share your experiences. It really helps to know I'm not making these symptoms up.
This highlights how crucial of a role each internal organ plays in health. Sorry for the loss of your mom and what you have dealt with with the cirrhosis. This video will help other people. You look good now.
God bless you sweetie!! I was diagnosed with cirrhosis early 2017. I had all the same issues plus many more. My MELD score was 38 and on August 1st 2017 was told that I only had roughly 2 months to live without a transplant. By the grace of God and organ donation I received my second chance at life September 3rd, 2017!! Sending love and prayers to you from Ohio!!! 💚♻️💚♻️💚

You can actually develop cirrhosis of the liver from many things. They asked you about Drugs and Alcohol because those have the hardest effect on a person's liver over all. Chronic consumption of Alcohol breaks down the liver causing a release in liver enzymes, but drugs happen to be the hardest. The hardest drug on the liver happens to be Tylenol as it can destroy your liver in up to 3 days. Next up is sugar, carbs and frutose can really damage the liver. Viruses and obesity are pretty common as well. I'm so sorry to hear this. Wishing you nothing but the best.
And long term medicine for other conditions, and gastric sleeve surgery. You need to join a support group online.❤️ We offer a safe place to discuss symptoms and problems.
First and foremost you are a brave strong and beautiful woman inside and out. I am a 35-year-old female diagnosed at the age of 30 with cirrhosis, as well had the paracentesis with 6 L taken from my abdomen and I wanted to thank you for your information as well as your bravery to help and educate individuals that suffer from this growing problem as well as but you know that six months before I was admitted to the hospital where I was for 8 1/2 months my mother had also passed from cirrhosis which led me to believe there was more than I realized when it comes to genetic addiction. In fact genetic addiction is and has been proven to be at our age of diagnosis very common unfortunately it is not spoken about and brushed under the rug like most addiction related diseases and unfortunately people that did not choose to have the genetic make up that already sets you up for a loss especially as you stated not being a heavy drinker drug use etc. I did the exact same with my abdomen started growing I thought possibly being pregnant even though I had not been intimate with somebody in years I still was so convinced that there was some thing that I did wrong or I was uninformed which happened to be the case. Alcoholism and genetic make up are more in common and hold hand-in-hand and so many cases especially when it comes to what you and I have. I know I’m on disability for life with no clue of my expectancy for life however I do everything I can including starting my own business to specifically create marketing or materials to educate individuals about the dangers and risks that they should as parents inform their children and anybody who could be a possible victim of genetic addiction leading to something as cirrhosis has led to both of us I am sorry for your mothers loss I truly am your beautiful woman and I have to thank you so much for your well and strength to empower me to contribute to a Long happy healthy life God bless you.
I appreciate you and your kind words. Theres so much that I still don't know about cirrhosis so thank you for giving me more insight and thank you for your work in educating others about the genetic make up as well. We all can learn a lot from each other. Are you currently seeing a specialist? I have to see one every 6 months from now on. I'm glad you were able to find out that it was cirrhosis before it was too late. Thank you for sharing your story. My condolences to you and your family for your mom's passing as well. Please keep me updated. Many blessings to you❤️
@@AngelMarieZamiri Your response made my day but mostly someone that actually responded to ME! I say that with disappointment I’ve come to be accustomed to due to the b.s stereotype & stigma cirrhosis & addiction in general carries. The brushed under the rug, coward like ignorance in which people who know nothing or choose to follow what others have to say or how they have personally been affected by addiction blind them from the main & most important factor. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WANT FOR OUR LIFE- ADDICTION IS NOT A CHOICE- ADDICTION IS A DISEASE- -Ignorance is bliss- & that saying has been around a long time for a reason, however with cirrhosis what people don’t know about liver disease is that it can also be caused by genetic digestive disorders, chronic viral hepatitis, fat buildup in the liver, inherited sugar metabolism & of course the large consumption of alcohol is & seems to be where people stay in focus. Yes, I’m well aware that when you play with fire you get burned when you eat McDonald’s breakfast lunch & dinner you’re most likely gonna pack on a couple extra LB‘s but what if anything would like to bring to light if I may is that it’s been proven that fatty liver disease & cirrhosis of anyone who has close relatives or parents that also, even if they never took a drink in their life but have the genetic makeup consisting of hereditary factors are in fact up to 12 times higher to suffer the same diagnosis of cirrhosis. My life today is one day at a time which starts the same way with a geriatric amount of vitamins that I learned while in the hospital was going to be mandatory. Lack or existence of vitamins, water intake, exercise, proper diet & ere a huge factor in why the stages of liver disease rapidly increased & if anyone can learn from what their reading is VITAMINS & WATER are your friend & be aware of your genetics. When I was finally discharged from my 9-month residency along with the information of being 30 years old & experiencing the end stages of cirrhosis, my liver has 15% remaining & functional. My team of 7 doctors is now 3 & one month away from my 36thbirthday it seems to bring a new unfortunate unwanted surprise every month it seems, the complications along with other factors including my routinely 4-month visit to my general doctor to go over blood work, talk about anything that may have changed with my anxiety & remaining depression from the trauma of losing my mother who battled hereditary alcoholism as well that I can only assume her own fathers demise & similar diagnosis was also, I am not sure if there is a link between just recently being diagnosed with graves' disease due to my hyperactive thyroid that my sister in fact also has which has now left me with having one protruding eye. bone density loss, short term memory loss & dyslexia that apparently is linked to cirrhosis, I was told the same diet along with the MINIMAL salt intake (when I got the news of the munchkin sized salt suggestion I, as per usual used my shield of sarcasm to reply jokingly " So i can't live by the sea?" ..... not funny at all BUT I DID STUMP THE DOC!) Mrs. Dash isn’t bad.... Lowered immune system, permanent disability & for the first time since 13 years old I can't work or receive a paycheck which is a whole new ballgame for me. Working 14 years in the service industry in Chicago since i graduated high school was a choice of mine that when i think back, no one looked at my lifestyle as time went on and suggested I realize the pattern in my family history, the overflowing recycling bins & reputation that my father gained especially with me as a party buddy. Denial of the fact that genetic addiction leading to many health problems & risks of passing something awful to your children is not right, but I can see why some if not most people don’t get excited about knowing their own frightening possible reality, let alone telling their children about the cruel reality they might have in store. As 35-year-old women who now looks back & realizes that you can’t change anything in the past but what I can do now is hope that people like you & I can do our part in telling the truth about how & what our diagnosis came to be & what is as survivors who go to battle each day can do to help & put the facts out there without any embarrassment let alone shame. I wasn't not to this day invincible, I should have done things as simple as drinking more water, ask about my family history or even opened my eyes to see what was happening around me from my first toast New Year’s Eve at the age of 12 thinking to myself “my parents are doing it..., So, it’s ok!” Popping a vitamin once a day, watching what I was eating… the list for all of us to have made changes in our lives is not a secret, but I do hope that if this you're reading this you can at least know that if you're living your life with cirrhosis or any addiction related problems you didn’t do anything wrong & you're sure as hell not alone.
P.s this is the most informative straight forward story I have ever seen, and I appreciate it so much. I don’t know how you are doing now, but I hope better! And I hope god is blessing you in many ways. ❤️
Thank you so much. That makes me happy to hear. 🥰 I’m doing well now. Everything is under control. I just need to keep up with my follow up appointments to make sure it’s not getting worse.
You are so brave for coming forward. It sounds as if nature dealt you a bad hand from the get go, however, you certainly have the intelligence and integrity to overcome. God Bless you and your family.
Hello: I am 74, diagnosed 16 months ago with non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis stage 4. Never used drugs or alcohol. I have experienced many of the same treatments and drug therapies you have. We keep on fighting and encouraging all of us who suffer. 🙏 for you! ❤❤😊😊
I was diagnosed with HepC 20 years ago and subsequent cirrhosis. I acquired this through a blood transfusion in 1982. I was told at the time that there was no treatment that would suit me and I would probably need a transplant within 10 years. However, within 5 years I was one of the first people in the UK to have a new treatment called Harvoni and it worked. I still have cirrhosis but it has slowed this down. I see a specialist every 6 months and have blood tests and an ultrasound and so far I have had satisfactory results. My admiration goes out to you for being so honest and public about you’re diagnosis The discrimination from medical professionals and the public is very noticeable. Take care and I pray that you live a long and happy life
Wow! Your story sounds almost exactly like mine. Although, I wasn't told about any treatment. Then again, you're in the UK and things are different than here in the states. I'm happy you were able to cure the hep. SO looks like we'll be doing the same thing from now on, seeing providers every 6 months, ultrasounds, bloodwork, etc. You take care as well. Hopefully I'll be able to visit the UK in the future. It's somewhere I've wanted to travel to.❤️
Hello Angie, exactly like you. Got Hep C, subsequent Cirrhosis treated with Harvoni, got rid of the Hep. That was sixteen years ago, Just recently had an Ultra Sound and a bunch of Blood work done they both showed nothing. Not sure what that means. I am remaining hopeful.
My dad was alcoholic and died from cirrhosis of the liver. I quit drinking at 42 when my doctor said I had swelling of the liver. But nothing near as bad as your case. Thank goodness I quit drinking. It’s a terrible disease
@@gloperez8741 that's good to hear. But a lot of people don't understand that the person has to live with the guilt. I wasn't a drinker. But I know what it's like living with what you done to yourself. That's not a life I want to live. Especially all alone. Everyday reminded of Drs appointments and getting older. Severe depression.
I'm so sorry you have this problem, I have the same thing. I've had it now for 7yrs. Now. My abdomen still swells, and everytime it happens its worse than the time before. This last time I swelled up it stretched my skin, it made its own stretched marks. But you really need to be careful about what you eat, I learned the hard way. The foods I pay attention to is salt. Mexican foods have alot of sodium. I wish you well, and may God Bless you.
The swelling is horrible and super painful... I had to change the way I was eating and calculate all the salt I was consuming. It's super hard but worth it. I wish you all the best ❤️
Hope you are continuing to do well. When you mentioned that the doctors didn’t seem to believe you when you said you didn’t use drugs or excessive alcohol, I had a similar experience. Last year I had hepatitis, elevated liver enzymes, and jaundice. The easiest diagnosis for my doctor was alcohol abuse and seemed to disbelieve me when I said otherwise. However, after a month or more of getting progressively sicker, I finally got a correct diagnosis. I had a very rare and life threatening reaction to Lipitor-which my doctor had prescribed. If you already have damage to your liver, please be very careful if a doctor wants to prescribe a statin for you.
This is great information. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad they found out exactly what was causing you to get sick. It's just sad some providers automatically think you abuse drugs or alcohol. I mean, I understand it may be true in many cases but not for everyone. Take care and again, thank you for this info. It can help a lot of people.
I have this I have had fluid dried so many times and had it all over my body lost my hair and was told to change my diet and my lifestyle drank alcohol at times and stopped because I was told I had to have a liver transplant I have to take multiple tablets and can also have some side effects from them it's so hard to manage very tired alone..stick with your medication and diet and exercise iv been told my liver is starting to recover I still have to take the medication and go to check ups I'm very thankful for my liver giving its self a chance I have to still have mri and ultrasound plus bloods taken weekly good luck on your recovery
Thank you so much. I was losing my hair too but I didn't know it could have been from the cirrhosis. That's interesting. Did your doctors tell you specific foods to stay away from other than salt? Please don't feel alone. DM me if you want. I felt so depressed too and it's not a good feeling to feel alone on top of that....I'm happy to hear your liver is recovering. That's amazing! We're in the same boat though with the blood work and dr visits and mri's etc.... Good luck to you and keep me updated and dm me if you want to. I don't want you feeling alone.
Thank you for speaking about your cirrhosis. I have had cirrhosis since 2012. You know, it can really tire you out! I hope you are feeling good in 2022! I hope to get some beauty tips too from you. I'm 63 so, it's a little different. I just don't want to look like I'm in pain all the time- I'm not but, you know that pressure that makes breathing a pain. I hope they are taking care of you, Angel! Do you take herbs? I have started turmeric, Liquorice root tea and ginger...and coffee to get out the fluid. If I ever have to be drained, your video has made it look safe and ok. I refused it in 2015 because, I thought it would be the beginning of the end. Stay strong. Thanks for the lift up!
It really can tire you out. A lot of times I feel drained and want to sleep all day. I am feeling much better now though. I still haven't had my dr visit to check on the state of my liver. So I'm looking forward to that and a bit terrified as well.... I love makeup lol Thank you for your comment and you stay strong as well.
The very best of luck . I am70 and I have just been diagnosed with stage 2 cirrhosis . You seem so young to have it . Thank you for your video . I found it very helpful . Let us know how you get on .
About 40 yrs ago, my childhood friend died of liver failure when she was in her 20's. Right before Christmas she went in to the doctor with similar symptoms as yours. They told her she had the flu and go home and rest. After Christmas, she felt worse and went back. They said she had hepatitis and admitted her into the hospital. She died two weeks later from liver failure. She never knew how she got it. She was a virgin, very sheltered, and never used drugs. I feel like your doctors are failing you. Please demand that they do everything possible. Is your liver healing or will you need a transplant? God bless you. Your story really touched my heart beautiful lady.
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It's so sad nobody actually knew what was wrong with her or tested her for hep the first time she went to the hospital...As far as right now, things are better with my liver. I mean, I'll have to continue with doctors appointments for the rest of my life but as far as right now goes, I'm doing better than I was. I'll keep updating you all. ❤️
@@lovelyj78 my friend didn't have any tattoos or piercings. She was very sheltered. They tried to convince her she either got it from a salad buffet or the bleached towels at the gym. Both highly unlikely.
I also have cirrhosis, mine is non alcohol. Mine is due TO PCOS which is poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I understand what you are saying about the swelling and not be able to breathe. I also understand about the judging looks and the questions. I pray that your treatment works for you. God bless.
I'm sorry you and anyone else that is going through this or any other illness ,Please remember God and Lord Jesus Christ is with you at all times,I was a drug used and alcoholic when I was 16 and quit at almost 19 and went back drinking at 25 and started using in my 30s and now I'm over 11years clean and sober.God has helped me so much,Truthfully i been sober longer than 11 and I cold turkey that, but anyway I didn't get Hepatitis or any illnesses and I am very thankful and I'm still going through rehab,God and the Lord helped me cause without em I would not of got through it or be here today.I will keep you in prayers,God Bless You and your family an friends an all.love, huggs, and the sweetest blessings an more 💜💙

Hi hope you re doing ok. I have cirrhosis also. 3 years ago. At 42 yrs old female. My ER diagnosis was a real shock. I was so sick. I sometimes still have very low energy days. But ok.am on a transplant list in case my liver one day decide to get sick again. Its scary but we get used to it. Take care xxx from France ❤❤
Hi, I hope you are well and thank you for sharing. My uncle who just turned 50 and lives with us has been going through a hard time, we noticed he hasnt been eating, having a hard time breathing and then BAM woke up one day and I noticed he was yellow all over, his skin and eyes, he didnt even notice and also has been gaining weight everywhere which is scary hence no appetite. Thank God this has scared him so bad he went into the hospital last night, they did say it is his liver and are giving him water pills but we know nothing at this point, I am so scared for him but also relieved he is in good hands and where he needs to be right now. God bless you🙏❤
it is a huge shock. Just seeing how your body and energy levels can change so quick... I was in shock when I got diagnosed too. So I completely understand. I'm glad you're on a transplant list just in case. Hopefully you won't need one though. You take care as well. I hope to visit France.🤞🏼
My Uncle was diagnosed with Cirrhosis and Hep C 30 years ago he is now 65 years old. Same liver no transplant but he STOPPED DRINKING COMPLETELY and eats healthier and lots of Coffee it's amazing for the liver. Also try and exercise. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.
This is amazing!!! I was never a big drinker but of course I stopped when I was diagnosed too. I am making better choices with my food and I'm using my peloton . Thank you for sharing this info. and I had no clue coffee was good for the liver.
@@AngelMarieZamiri Yes i know if you google any Cirrhosis Diet it's says to drink 3-5 cups of Coffee per day. It's prevents further inflammation, helps lower your liver enzymes and is a liver protectant as well. Also good for you on your changes. Keep it up!! :)
I have liver cirrosis 3 years after removing my gall bladder. I had a stroke and found out that there was liver cirrosis as well. Now I am much better and conscious of what I eat. I do 30min of light exercise daily.
I’ve been diagnosed end stage cirrhosis 6 years ago. I’m 65 now and if I could live 10 years without a transplant I would be happy. I’ve rarely drank nor ever had hepatitis but change of diet and medication I felt better enough decided to find a part time job. Before my meds were adjusted correctly I have 72 liters removed in 5 months. So be diligent about taking your meds. My hep doctor thinks mine was caused by having my gall bladder removed at a very young age!
Can I ask at what age did you have your gallbladder removed? I got mine removed 3 years ago at age 22, so hearing that you may have gotten cirrhosis from gallbladder removal is a bit scary to hear.
Also they had their's removed when it was full blown surgery/drain tube and week in hospital. That can cause problems with the bile duct which can then not work properly and backs up in the liver, killing it. You more than likely had day surgery removal.
I never knew you could get cirrhosis because of having your gall bladder removed. Theres a lot I still don't know or understand about this...and 72 liters??? I can't imagine how much pain you were in. I only had 3 liters and I would cry because I was so uncomfortable. I'm glad you're feeling better.
@@AngelMarieZamiri when you first started entering the first stages of cirrhosis did you also feeling shortness of breath and like random dizzy spells ?

@@AngelMarieZamiri thank you for the wishes. @@wendyconnair7782 this is heartbreaking to hear. I’m so sorry. Trying to see the positive, at least you all know about how much time you have with her, and you never know it could be longer…I lost my mom 4 years ago from similar issues and it was so sudden. She went to the hospital (which was pretty normal for her) and this time they said this is it and she passed the next morning. So we didn’t know how much time we had left and it was really hard on my sisters and I.

Fascinating Story on how you got It, and thank you for sharing...my friend was a HEAVY drinker from the time he got up till he went to bed....VODKA. he noticed a large painful lump on his right abdomen. So he got Norco for the pain...which include large amounts af Acetaminophen aka Tylenol...hard on the liver. He stopped cold turkey...went into full blown Delierum Tremons....he can never drink again. He started taking milk thistle OTC in the vitiman isle and TRUTHFULLY that lump (dead spot of his liver) drastically went down in size...most Allopathic Physicians will say it does nothing....but it DOES help heal somewhat....have you ever tried Milk Thistle?
wow. that's interesting to hear. My doctor told me not to take milk thistle. He said it doesn't work. So I never did.🤷🏼♀️🤔I'm glad it helped your friend.
@AngelMarieZamiri LOTS of natural remedies DO WORK!!!! Would I Only use Eastern medicine? No...antibiotics are essential in many types of bacterial infections...but yes, many natural means DO WORK!!!!!!
Due to the stigma attached, you're forced to spend an inordinate amount of time explaining the role alcohol may or may not have played in contracting this illness. You are beautiful and this adds to the allure of how this happened to you. Coming forward in this way helps others in ways you've never considered. Thank you.
I contracted Hep C through a blood transfusion as well back in 1978 there was no screening for Hep C found out in 1997 during a pregnancy test in the hospital I had Hep C . My daughter did not contract it thank God, I was cured of Hep C through new treatments . In 2021 found out I had liver cancer but caught early so I was blessed to not get further treatments. I’m careful of what I put into my body and get checked every 6 months through MRI’s and endoscopy.
omg that's the same situation that happened to me. How crazy right?! I'm so happy you were cured of hep C and cancer... So we're on the same boat cause I was told I would have to get checked every 6 months as well. Wishing you the best.
GOD BLESS YOU ! I had a cousin who had hepatitis c and took the treatment and was cured. I dont know if this will apply to you, but maybe ask your physician about the possible cure. 🙏💐🙏
I’m glad your cousin was cured ❤️ ☺️ I posted an updated video about the medication I was talking for the hep. I’m waiting on my provider to call me with the results🤞

@Angel Marie Zamiri Hi Angel! I'm sorry to hear about all the health problems you are having. I sure hope you are able to get through it. 🙏 I do have a question. I wanted to know if during this time, if at night, you were experiencing sleep apnea, or a tightening feeling in your mid-section? Like a squeezing feeling, than a gasping of air when it happens? I will wait for a reply and please take care and God bless you.🙏
Thank you so much. I did not have sleep apnea. I only felt like it was hard for me to get comfortable to fall asleep due to the swelling. I did have a lot of pain in my stomach though.
@Angel Marie Thank you for getting back to me! I was feeling the feelings i had described to you, but they have since, disappeared! Thank God for that!🙏 I sure hope you are feeling better these day Angel Marie! ( i will continue to follow your progress.🙂) God bless!🙏
My husband went from 120 Gamma GT to 69! We started with iodine drops (lugol’s) and after 2 weeks of severe herxheimer (sleepy during day time) a huge drop in Gamma GT
Thank God it isn't cancer! You can still have a transplant, if necessary? My husband of 32 years had ur exact symptoms and it took them forever to diagnose it. They did 13 liver biopsies and I'm convinced those started his downward spiral. He was so much worse after that and never made it to any chemo. Before they do any biopsy...read up on EVERYTHING that you can and fully vet ur physicians! You and your family are in my prayers...God bless
I'm sorry to hear about your husband. 13 biopsies? 😳wow. I can't even imagine...I'll make sure to do research on all options if I get to that point where I need a transplant. So far everything is good. I just hope it stays that way.
Very true. When I was diagnosed the first thing my dr said is that I may very well need a transplant and if they find any alcohol in my system they will not treat me anymore. Thank goodness I don’t drink.
I’m so sorry… I completely understand what you mean. I felt that way too. Did they tell you how bad it is? You can still live a great long life and not need a transplant. I’m sure you’ll have to cut out alcohol (if you drink) and maybe change your diet, but please don’t feel alone. Ask lots of questions to your providers and you have my support too. Don’t feel alone.
Hi beautiful ! Can you make a video where you talk more about how much you drank and for how long ? I am at 2 or 3 bottles of wine a day for more than 3 years .I am working a regular job . I drink since I am 25 I am 35 now . I don’t feel sick but I put on a lot of weight around 40 pounds and my depression and anxiety are out of control . My husband and son don’t notice ( at least I think so ) but now I start drinking at work and this is extremely unacceptable. Did you get help and how ? Thank you so much for sharing your are a beauty and very brave . Sorry my English is not on point 😘
Hello. I actually don't drink at all. I used to have a few drinks while going out before I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. But my diagnosis wasn't due to drinking. It was due to contracting hepatitis when I was born. I'm sorry you're going through depression and anxiety which is causing you to drink. If you need to talk you can dm me. I pray you overcome this not only for yourself but for your family as well. I'm sure if they haven't noticed now, they will with time and I know they want you to be happy and healthy.

Wow. I've never heard of that either. When I first found out I thought it was just through alcohol and sharing needles etc.... I never knew you could get it from anything other than that. I have a lot to learn... and what's horrible is when I was diagnosed with cirrhosis and went to the hospital every doctor and nurse who came to my room to ask question or get information made me feel like I was an alcoholic and was lying to them...after telling them I don't do drugs nor do I drink a lot. I told them I drink socially and they still tried to get me to admit I was an alcoholic and that was so upsetting.
I was diagnosed with Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency in 2017. I found out last week that I have stage 4 cirrhosis. I don’t drink or do drugs or have hep C. My liver problems are solely caused by A1AD. There’s very little awareness of this disease…even in the medical community. How did you hear about it, if you don’t mind me asking.
Kristen McAlester, my SIL didn't find out she had the anti trypsin issue until she developed lung cancer from it. She passed in Jan 2022 sadly and never received any treatment for the deficiency. I cannot recall what it is but there is something they can give you to help prevent the secondary damage to the lungs. Not sure there is any help for the misshapen proteins that build up in the liver. It's rare but seem like everyone should routinely be tested for this disorder in infancy.
I had covid/pneumonia and was taking remdesiver, which is known to damage liver. My liver count was starting to get bad on last day of treatment but doc said not to worry and it would resolve on its own. Now I'm home and my belly is so swelled..especially on upper abdomen where it never swells. I constantly feel like I have heartburn too. It's uncomfortable especially laying on belly. I feel breathless, but idk if it's normal because I'm still recovering from pneumonia. Idk where I'm going with this, but I was wondering did you have any jaundice along with swelling? I just don't know if I need to see a doctor just for swelling.
Oh wow! I’m sorry you’re going through this. I can only speak on my experience and I had to get the fluids drained because my belly was so swollen. But I’m not sure if yours could be caused by pneumonia /covid. I wish you all the best. Keep me updated.
I had COVID also and because my liver was compromised it hit there the most, I also had pneumonia. I couldn't breathe, I was so tired, I could sleep for 12 hours be up just a little bit and had to lay down. Go to the hospital! They admitted me and that is when they found out that my liver had suffered because of COVID. Get it checked out!
I have to go see the doctor because I too was prescribed Amoxicillin with Clavulanate (I see many reports of this Antibiotics causing Liver Problems like DILI) to treat appendicitis and pneumonia bacteria that was forming in my lungs. The Antibiotic took care of my illnesses, but now I have a semi throbbing sensation on my upper right area for like 6 months and also they told me I had a NON ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER. I have never taken antibiotics in my life and I have never had any throbbing pain on my upper right side discomfort.
No, it’s not normal. Make your doctor do a cat scan, there is something wrong, and fatty liver turns into cirrhosis, I’ve just been diagnosed and I’m listening to different doctors on utube, you have to be aggressive yourself, it’s the squeaky wheel that gets oiled🙏
I cried when I saw this because I used to be an alcoholic and by all means I should have gotten cirrhosis, but I didn’t and seeing someone who didn’t abuse their body and didn’t deserve it. I guess that’s why it makes me sad.We all love you girl and rooting for you!!
Your case of cirrhosis of the liver is unusual, since most but not all cases of cirrhosis of the liver are alcohol related. I also know what it is like to have a medical doctor ask me if I consume alcoholic beverages and answering no I do not consume alcoholic beverages. I once went to the Emergency Room with severe abdominal pain and I was diagnosed as having Acute Pancreatitis. Most cases of Acute Pancreatitis are alcohol related, but some are not. I was asked that question by the medical doctor. Eventually it was suspected that one of my blood pressure medications had triggered the Acute Pancreatitis. I was changed to another blood pressure medication and since then Acute Pancreatitis has not occurred again.
I'm glad they were able to find the cause and not misdiagnose you. I just wish the medical staff would understand not everyone drinks alcohol and that there may be other issues causing your symptoms... Wishing you all the best.
I think I might have this. But no belly swelling.. just eye lid swelling, dizziness, and headaches. And this weird achy feeling in the right side under my ribs.
I’m so sorry you were not monitoring your liver with a hepatologist. You should of been given the cure years ago. It sounds like you need to get with a hepatologist because they will put you on a transplant list. Your too young and otherwise healthy. There are multiple reasons why you can get cirrhosis. It’s not always etoh abuse for those who think that. Liver failure can happen to those with kidney failure, primarily biliary cirrhosis, anorexia, hepatitis B and C, NASH, and more... Get yourself a good liver doctor(hepatologist). They will be your lifeline. People like you fall through the cracks because of that one doctor and you thought you were good to go. Honestly you could sue him. They should of giving you a referral to a specialist. Praying this works out for you. ❤️❤️❤️
I should have been monitoring it a long time ago and unfortunately this is what happened since I didn't. Luckily I am working with a hematologist and now I'll be monitoring it with him.
@@AngelMarieZamiri Great. I know a lot about nutrition. Learn about Nitric Oxide. There are many things you can do naturally to heal. I eat raw garlic daily. Learn about Oxalates and why things like Soy, Spinach and Almonds are bad since they are high in them. Do not wear any makeup. It is all toxic. You can get patches on the skin for pain right- makeup is absorbed into the blood the same way and it is very toxic- hard on liver I bet.
God bless you How are you Past ten days I got my report I am in cirrhosis. Doctor asked me to take less intake salt and exercise daily and change in diet. Take care of your health.
Have you been tested for Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency? It is a genetic disorder. It’s directly passed down from one or both of your parents. I was diagnosed with it in 2018. Please please get tested for it if you haven’t already. There’s a great possibility you could have it.
It's called Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. It's based on diet, instead of alcohol. I've been told I've got it, I'm waiting for a liver scan to be done. Then I see the consultant again, and see what he wants to do from there
